About this deal

Use a pencil eraser and Infinite Shine Go To Grape Lengths to stamp a large dot at the cuticle line. Clean eraser with lacquer remover between stamps. We are seeing lots of summer themed nail polish collections launch right now, and the OPI Power of Hue Summer 2022 Collection has dropped as this year’s OPI summer collection. For this collection, OPI partnered with The Trevor Project, the world's largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organisation to spread awareness about the increasing number of LGBTQIA+ youth suicides. With this collection, OPI wants to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and how important acceptance and kindness are. Offering you a wide and polymorphic colour palette, this new collection is perfect not only for the summer season but for throughout the year! Including both warm and cool tones of nail polish, the OPI Power of Hue Collection is a remarkable addition to any collection of nail varnishes. This collection includes 12 new polishes with a kaleidoscopic colour palette with a dazzling shimmer.

This one did feel the most squishy and jelly-like of the bunch, so it was a little more sheer on the 1st coat. It was pretty well opaque with 2 – though this is one that definitely needed 3 on my super ridged nails. If your nails are smooth, you should be good with just 2. Using their dedication to research, AKT discovered that 77% of the LGBTQIA+ community members believe that coming out to their parents is either the reason they have become homeless or are about to in the future. Orly Pop! Summer 2022 • Glam Polish Cosmic Holos Collection • China Glaze Jurassic World Summer 2022 • Essie Summer 2022 •LA Colors Boho Chic Collection • Pleasing Shroom Bloom CollectionCreated in partnership with The Trevor Project, this collection wants you to celebrate your individuality in style! Don't Wait. Create.: This is a pretty lavender scattered with soft pearlescent iridescence. The formulation is fairly sheer so applying three coats is a must.

All of the shades are so bright and vibrant, and they all have a uniquely interesting shimmer finish. Let’s take a look at all twelve shades in detail… Did you guess it was time for green? Well it’s time for green, and it just might be a contender for favorite of the collection. This is ‘Make Rainbows’ and it’s a bright lime green shade with an aqua blue shimmer to it – again a touch subtle on the nails and I would have loved to see more of it. Next up we have ‘Pink BIG’. The shade right after this one looks very similar, and is the same depth of color – this one is the more fuchsia and cooler-toned of the two. This one is filled with silvery holographic glitters all throughout.

The Albert Kennedy Trust also discovered that 59% of the people who have entered their study have faced at least one form of abuse or discrimination when attempting to access help services because of their identity.

They not only offer a safe space for anyone from the community where they can feel safe but they are dedicated to spreading awareness about the LGBTQIA+ in schools to prevent discrimination from its early stages. Up first let’s look at our blues. This one is ‘Sky True to Yourself’, and it’s the lighter of the 2. This is a bright sky blue shade (sky true, sky blue, I see what they’re doing here) with just the tiniest touch of green to it – and large scattered silvery blue flakey shimmer all throughout. I am really excited about the OPI Power of Hue Summer 2022 Collection. I honestly want the whole collection, as the shades are all so pretty. I think my favourites would have to be Go To Grape Lengths, Don’t Wait. Create, Pink BIG, Feel Bluetiful and Make Rainbows. The OPI Power of Hue Collection not only has a wonderful colour palette but a wonderful message behind it and in this blog, we will explore both!In addition to the twelve full size nail polishes in the three formulas, but there’s also going to be two mini sets, like all of their nail polish collections, and the two mini sets available are; Logically, of course, we move right onto the yellow. This is ‘Bee Unapologetic’ (I do love that name), and it’s a bright lemon yellow shimmer shade. Now for all 12 of these shades, none are straight up creams. All of these have some sort of shimmer and glitter to them – from a subtle fine glitter flash, to scattered glitters to larger glitter flakes. This is a shimmer collection, so if you want these colors and just a cream formula, this is not the collection. Just getting that right out there. I do love different formulas and a theme for a mainstream brand, so I wasn’t mad at OPI trying something new. Alright, into the individual shades. Again, a little more sheer and uneven on the 1st coat, but I was able to get it opaque with 2 coats. And again, you know the drill, it’ll depend on your application – you might need a 3rd for any last visible nail line. Like the brighter pink shades above, it also dried with a more satin matte finish. Make Rainbows: A bright summer green, Make Rainbows stands out from the rest with a fine sprinkle of frosty blue shimmers (instead of iridescent flake shimmers). Unfortunately, the color is still sheer so I needed three coats for the swatches below.

And we’ve made it to the end! – of the rainbow, and the collection. Last but certainly not least we have ‘Go to Grape Lengths’, and this is a deeper and cooler toned grape purple shade with bright blue shimmer all throughout. Sugar Crush It: This soft cotton candy pink is scattered with pale pearlescent shimmers. The formulation is sheer so I needed three coats for the swatches below. Sky True to Yourself: This is a beautiful baby blue scattered with soft blue and pearlescent shimmers. The formulation is sheer so I needed three coats. For the Power of Hue Collection, OPI also supported the Albert Kennedy Trust (AKT), a non-profit organisation dedicated to offering help to members of the LGBTQIA+ who struggle to find stable housing. And of course we need a TRUE BRIGHT ORANGE in the lineup. This is ‘Mango For It’, a true bright tropical orange base with tons of golden shimmer all throughout. For this summer season, OPI decided that the focus should be not only on having the best manicures and pedicures, but it is most important that we understand the impact of our actions on the LGBTQIA+ youths. This is definitely the prettiest OPI collection I have seen in a while, especially since all of these shades are going to be opaque shimmers. It reminds me a bit of what I wanted the OPI Summer 2019 to be. I’m glad that we now get what we want! The Trevor Project is one of the biggest organisations created to support the LGBTQIA+ youth communities in distress. The Trevor Project dedicates its hard work to spreading suicide awareness, diminishing the growing number of LGBTQIA+ suicides and offering support to anyone who might need it 24/7. Now for the very last of the pinks, and with one that transitions us on into the oranges so beautifully. This is ‘Sun-rise Up’ and it’s a peachy, almost coral pink shade with golden orange shimmer all throughout. I will say that shimmer is a touch subtle on the nails, so I always wish it was a little more prominent, but that’s a minor complaint. With this collection, OPI aims to spread awareness about the discrimination and struggles members of the LGBTQIA+ face on a daily basis. The aim of this collection is to ensure that every member of the OPI collection feels understood and accepted. With your help and love for the OPI Power of Hue Collection, OPI has been able to support two of the most influential charities that help the LGBTQIA+ community, The Trevor Project and the Albert Kennedy Trust!
