About this deal

Running an inn can be a lucrative business. If you know how to handle your guests you can make a killing. In the Bloody Inn players are greedy members of a poor farming family. Having invested in an inn, they undertake to make their fortune robbing and murdering guests but it's a lot of work, too much for one person. You’ll need accomplices. Fortunately, everyone has their price. Travellers of various professions can be bribed to help you accomplice your unsavory activities. Even still, I found The Bloody Inn to be an enjoyable game that has already made its way to our tables a few times. If you are a fan of engine building or hand management games, I can easily recommend this one. It feels fresh and I don’t have much else in my game library like it.

Note: Your accomplice has allowed you to build this annex, but you won't be able to count on his abilities thereafter, because he is too busy! Place the traveler in an open (i.e. has a Key token), unoccupied (i.e. has no traveler) room of his choice. Module 1: The Carnies — The carnies are a new type of guest. This module can be played with or without the event cards. Before the start of the game, decide whether you want to include the event cards. At the end of the round (phase 3), before the police investigation step, if at least one carnie occupies a room of the inn (or a trailer), you must resolve the event card this round. The main thing that drew me to The Bloody Inn, other than the unique theme, was the outstanding artwork. The dark and creative style really drew me in and felt like it fit the theme of the game perfectly. Each card is colorfully illustrated with a picture of the guest, and also contains any relevant game information. In the same way, it is possible to bribe the peasants that are in the bistro. If you choose to bribe peasants, you can take one or two (your choice: it is easier to corrupt peasants!). Peasants are rank 0, and thus do not require playing any cards to bribe them. When you kill a Guest of the inn, you put him in front of you Dead-side-up. It pains you, but what can you do? This is the life you have chosen! Keep in mind that you have a code of honor: You only steal money from a Guest when you bury him! A family of greedy rural farmers is determined to make its fortune and has devised a diabolical stratagem to achieve this goal: Invest in an inn so they can rob traveling guests, getting rich without arousing the suspicions of the police! All actions except laundering money are performed using the same process. Play a number of accomplices from your hand equal to the rank of the guest (or accomplice) the action applies to. Return any with an affinity for the action performed to your hand and discard the rest. At the end of the day, you must pay each accomplice in your hand or they’ll leave your service. The Bloody Inn can be played with up to four players, ideal for a smaller group of friends. What better place is there to conspire against the guests of your establishment than amongst them in your local pub?

The Bloody Inn, by Nicholas Robert, is a game of murder, robbery, bribery, and burial - the challenges of making a living as a serial killing family in the hospitality industry. It accommodates one to four players for 45 to 60 minutes and is suitable for players aged 14 and over. The grim and macabre theme draws on the historic events of an establishment known as L'auberge rouge (The Red Inn), and the murderous family that amassed significant wealth over the decades they ran it. A Grave Undertaking Carcassonne is fully customisable, with plenty of expansions to choose from. Build rivers, bridges, cathedrals, markets, farms, the list goes on. Add extra tiles and features if you want a longer game or a varied experience.

Object of the Game

Bury a corpse: Choose one of your face down corpses. Discard cards equal to its rank, returning any with the coffin symbol to your hand. Place the corpse under anyone’s annex. Gain the money listed on the corpse. If you buried it under an opponent’s annex, you split the money.

You can choose not to do any of the above actions on your turn. In this case, you are allowed, but not required, to meet the crooked village notary to launder money. You can then either: Each player places a Key token of his color on an unclaimed room of his choice (the position of the room makes no difference, so just choose a room close to you).Darken the atmosphere of the pub with The Bloody Inn! Set in a remote corner of France, The Bloody Inn was released in 2015 by designer Nicolas Robert. Published by Pearl Games, The Bloody Inn has continuously received great praise. Which is no surprise with the fantastic artwork and gruesome gameplay. While it might be hard to identify with your role in the game, The Bloody Inn isn’t gruesome. The murderous actions are tongue in cheek and are not glorified. The unflattering stereotyped presentation of characters extends this handling of the theme to reinforce the waggish humour and light heartedness. The artwork is excellent and befits the combination of humour and sombre context. The Bloody Inn is a card game by Pearl Games, with a macabre yet tongue-in-cheek theme. Up to four players are greedy farmers that run a 19th century inn, within a sleepy, remote French village. Your aim? Get rich by killing the guests, and then looting them before burying the evidence! But look out: the local police have heard suspicious activity around your establishment. If any of them survive the night, they’ll start sniffing around and you’ll have to buy your way out of trouble… At the end of the round, if any room of the inn contains one of the police, then they conduct an investigation; if a player has any unburied victims, then he must pay 10F per victim to the local gravedigger to hurriedly — and quietly — bury the bodies! France 1831: In a remote corner of ArdÈche, the little village of Peyrebeille sees numerous travelers pass through. A family of greedy rural farmers is determined to make its fortune and has devised a diabolical stratagem to achieve this goal: Invest in an inn so they can rob traveling guests, allowing them to get rich without arousing the suspicions of the police! Whether or not their plan will work out, one thing is certain: Not every guest will leave this inn alive….
