About this deal

David Walliams - comedian, actor and author - continues to take the children's literary world by storm. His tenth novel, BAD DAD, was an immediate number one, following the triumph of THE MIDNIGHT GANG, the biggest-selling children's book of 2016. WORLD'S WORST CHILDREN 2, which published in early 2017, spent four weeks at industry number one and eight weeks at the top of the children's chart. They have achieved unprecedented critical acclaim - and RATBURGER, DEMON DENTIST and AWFUL AUNTIE have all won the National Book Awards Children's Book of the Year. With all these things happening in his life, he has become the wealthiest 12 year old boy in the whole city. However, Joe does not seem to be happy rather. The reason is that even though he has billions of pounds, he does not have even a single friend with whom he can play. I actually think David Walliams is better than Roald Dahl. I know, I know. Roald Dahl is amazing, legend, one of a kind but David's books are genuinely good, kind, honest and most importantly wise. I will be always grateful for that. I read the book as I had read odd chapters at bedtime with my daughter but couldn’t quite get the story so told her that I would read it when she had finished it. I’m good for my word!

Between the years 1989 and 1992, author David studied at the Bristol University. During that time, he used to reside at the Manor Hall and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama in the year 1992. It was during the university holidays in the year 1990 that David met with his future comedy partner named Matt Lucas while performing at the National Youth Theater. Soon, someone comes into his life, who appreciates Joe for being himself and not because of his money. But still a problem exists as Joe is about to learn that as soon as money gets involved, nothing remains as it used to be. Joe has always heard his elders, saying that the best things in life always come for free, but if he does care about them, he is definitely going to all of them. While I applaud an author for broadening their range, I just didn't really like this one. While I could read Billionaire Boy or Boy in the Dress again and again, this one isn't likely to be repeated on our school runs. On many occasions, the literary style of author David has been compared with the likes of Roald Dahl. David was born in London to Peter Williams and Kathleen. His father was a transportation engineer in London while his mother used to work as a lab technician.

This show was the one that set up the television career of author David and made him popular. He made his writing debut with the children’s novel titled ‘The Boy in the Dress’. This book opened to the extreme popularity and acclaim after its publication in the year 2008.His most recent fiction title, The World’s Worst Children, published on 19th May 2016 sold over 340,000 copies in the UK alone. It went straight to No. 1 on release where it stayed for 4 weeks and also concurred Children’s Books charts, where it stayed at No.1 for 7 weeks. Internationally sales continue to thrive, The World’s Worst Children also went straight to No. 1 in the Australian children’s chart and remained there for three consecutive weeks and reached the No. 1 in the overall book chart in New Zealand. Well, this is my first David Walliams book and as I am aged 44, I suspect I am not really his target demographic. I didn't like the Audible version very much, the music used as bookends to chapters was annoying, a little 80s computer-sounding, and I think I'd have preferred to read an illustrated paper copy. I did find myself tuning out a few times, which I try very hard not to do. As an adult, I didn't particularly enjoy this, but listening as someone who needs to be aware of children's tastes and trends, I can't see this making waves as Walliams' comic efforts have done. While Alfie of course becomes a braver hero than he starts out as, it's a genre (or mix of) that is better suited to the adolescent who can deal with the more mature themes more comfortably. There is a lot here that will puzzle and put off. urn:oclc:record:976442740 Foldoutcount 0 Identifier blob0000wall Identifier-ark ark:/13960/s2s3mb3d6b0 Invoice 1652 Isbn 9780008221539

This follows on from the success of Grandpa’s Great Escape, Awful Auntie, Demon Dentist, Ratburger and Gangsta Granny. All went straight to Children’s number one on release with Gangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy selling over a million copies to date.Bob Mortimer wins 2023 Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction with The Satsuma Complex In this television series, he has played the character of a chemistry teacher named Keith Church. In the year 2015, author David starred in the BBC series called Partners in Crime and played the role of Tommy Beresford. As well as his Children’s fiction, David has also published four number one bestselling picture books, his latest, The Bear Who went Boo! was published in November 2015 and has had total sales of over 85,000 to date. The Queen’s Orang-utan, David’s third picture book was written exclusively for Comic Relief with David giving all of his proceeds from the book to the charity. Wow! I believe that David Williams is a great writer where he writes books that are funny, emotional, happy and sad. But with a message behind them all.
