Just a note: This may have impacted my review but this is the fragrance that my grandpa wears, so maybe that's why it smells old to me. In my experience, this fragrance smells amazingly close to Fierce (and Fierce was my signature scent for 5 years), in fact, I cannot tell the difference from memory.

So I grew out of love with this one a few years back, in fact I really stopped wearing it regularly in about 2015/2016 but I still owned a bottle now and then and occasionally wore it. The heart emphasizes oakmoss note (evernyl molecule) merged with geranium, coumarin, apple, rose, and Pomarosa molecule (notes of dried fruit).The opening is full of aromatic, easily distinguishable notes of lavender accompanied by fresh bergamot and other citruses.

On my skin, the opening smells like straight alcohol, and the scent takes about 30 minutes to develop enough for me to even smell it. The bottle was designed by the Montblanc creation studio and adopts all the brand’s famous codes: deep black, elegant silver, and the symbolic star.I sprayed it on my wrists and an hour later I was barely detecting anything from a couple of inches away. I am quite disappointed, after purchasing a 30 ml bottle of Legend, to find out it is identical to Zara Lincoln Road Miami (somehow not present on Fragrantica) that I already own.

However it's popularity and positive reactions from both men and women prove to me that the general population loves this smell. My father used to wear this cologne and it reminds me of him so I might be a bit biased but it’s nice and soapy and clean and sweet and fruity. The performance is definitely there, for sure it's not extreme or beast mode, but I sprayed it in my hand 10 hours ago and after showering and washing my hands multiple times, I can still smell it if I get close, so it's pretty much the performance that I get from most designer fragrances. To me this is musky and very "masculine", even more so than Sauvage, which to me is more "relaxing".If the opening, projection, and longevity were a little better I might wear this one more, but as is there's no reason for me to choose this. This unique fragrance opens up with top notes of Bergamot, Lavender, Pineapple Leaf, Verbena before sweeping into heart notes of Oak Moss, Geranium, Coumarin, Apple, Rose, Pomarosa Molecule to the finally drift into base notes of Sandalwood, Tonka, Evernyl. More concentrated than eau de toilette, eau de parfum is generally more tenacious and leaves a stronger scent trail.

I own all 3 and honestly percival smells the worst of the 3, but percival has better performance than all 3. Any fragrance needs to dry down on the skin for ten minutes or so to reveal exactly what it will smell like on the particular individual.
