About this deal

In his youth, American Frank Dux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) was taught the art of ninjitsu by Japanese martial arts master Senzo Tanaka. Disc Limited SteelBook with 4K Ultra HD movies with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HDR10 on UHD-Blu-ray and in High Definition on Blu-ray. It was pretty-much all a slow path downhill from there but, unlike most all of his peers, Van Damme was still invested in even the trash he had to participate in - the result being he's made a surprising number of genuinely watchable DTV efforts. die als "Komplett bezahlt" im System gespeichert ist, erhalten Sie Bonuspunkte im Wert der gesamten Bestellung. A long forgotten classic that can be watched with better picture and sound quality than I ever remembered.

The very fact it's on 4K, and in pretty damn decent shape, should be celebrated, and if you're there for the action and the film, you'll soon sit back and enjoy comfortably the most glorious presentation it's ever had, with WCG and HDR (Dolby Vision and, reportedly, even HDR10+ are available too) coming into play to breathe life into the colour palette, the red and yellow sashes, the ever-burning flames, the shorts and outfits, and gold embroidery. self-promotional, but covers such a broad range of subjects that it's got a little something for everyone. Both Mediabooks are excellent designs, one of them looking distinctly like the old VHS packaging the media had back in the day, however the Steelbook variation shouldn't go unmentioned - it might be lacking in the booklet that's in the other two sets, but it does deliver a surprisingly effective, simple, design, with embossing and debossing on the frame, the title and - perhaps most surprisingly - Van Damme himself. Yeah, it’s cheesy, but the martial arts set pieces are done very well and the overall theme of the film will give you that “feel good factor” at the end. Also so many special features on this thing I haven't even watched them yet because I always run the film again instead.Blu-ray edition, which squeezed both this film and Timecop on a dual-layered disc via the outdated VC-1 codec. It can vary from shot to shot - Donald Gibb's rough, hairy look at times impressively rendered, at other times looking a smidge hazy but it's clear that several shots were incapable of being better resolved due primarily to the source - patent zooms being the biggest culprits to outright softer focus. Inside a hidden Hong Kong arena, elite combatants clash in the Kumite, the little-known but hotly contested world championship of full-contact fighting. Found this to be a great release mainly for the book style and retro inspired art work the 4K restoration is not perfect but tbh it will never be due to its original quality but it still does not Impact the enjoyment of the movie and as everyone has stated one of jcvd’s best movies!

Their Ultra HD Blu-ray delivers a frequently excellent 4K picture that's not without its limitations - partly the result of the original filming style. I’ve got this already from Capelight June release, note that the booklet text is in German, not sure if they have changed this for the 12th August release. and uses a Wide Colour Gamut (WCG), High Dynamic Range and Dolby Vision (and HDR10+), and is encoded using the HEVC (H.

It's celebrated as inspiring not only the entire Mortal Kombat game and movie franchise, but also influencing and popularising what we now know of as mixed martial arts and UFC. It's hardly going to be regarded as demo material, but it's easily the best the film has ever sounded.

Capelight Pictures, in association with ‎ Altitude Film Distribution, will bring to 4K Blu-ray Newt Arnold's cult film Bloodsport (1988), starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Donald Gibb, Leah Ayres, Norman Burton, and Forest Whitaker. I have the German digibook and it's one of those things that I really don't need double dip on but, I think I would for a standard release.Description: In his youth, American Frank Dux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) was taught the art of ninjitsu by Japanese martial arts master Senzo Tanaka. There's plenty of oomph to the action, with the cheesy but perfectly toned score (alternating fabulously between cheery strums for the hero and more ominous tones for the villain) gets the best coverage across the array, rounding out a lovely - and unexpected - Atmos upgrade. This edition was sorely needed as the UK has had to settle for a dvd release since ‘03The extras are fantastic and really make this steelbook release feel special. I just know when I do it though, we'll get a nice version in the states from Shout or someone like that. Yeah - the Amaray looks quite good and has the Cover B variant from the Mediabook as reversible sleeve.

Disc Limited Collector's Edition, SteelBook with Film in 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Vision for the first time, HDR10+ and HDR10 on UHD Blu-ray and in High Definition on Blu-ray. But it is just about enough, endearingly unravelled and frequently quite spirited in its depiction of Van Damme's young, heroic actions (the 'chase' across HK streets where CID agents are trying to arrest him is absolutely farcical - clearly intentionally so - with Van Damme literally dancing his way out of trouble), whilst the tournament is built up to biblical proportions - brick smashing, death-punch-throwing fantasy, and strained, sinew-popping, full-face screams that are now the subject of countless internet memes and gifs. The packaging is worth its own mention as Bloodsport gets a trio of different special edition packages to choose from - mirroring the Mediabook style popular in Capelight's native Germany. Finally at long last easily van damme best film, I've begged and pleaded for this to come on steelbook long before I stopped collecting them an now it has, I'm really surprised it hasnt sold out while I'm writing this, I would have bought 10 copies myself cos love film that much but 35 a pop no chance.

Jean-Claude Van Damme's breakthrough was this low budget live-action inspiration for Mortal Kombat - blisteringly basic but also remarkably effective. Bloodsport is more than just the sum of its pretty flimsy parts, not only remaining a solid debut for Van Damme, with some spectacular martial arts action, but also the birth of MMA, UFA and even Mortal Kombat.
