About this deal

However this is a very large book (smaller than previous editions) so is not really one you can take to the library with you. Wells's most recent biographer notes that The Science of Life "is not quite as dated as one might suppose".

One of the greatest scientific feats of our era is the astonishing progress made in understanding biology-the intricate machinery of life-a progress to which the period we are living in right now has contributed the most. Roark Centennial Professor in Integrative Biology at the University of Texas at Austin, where he also has directed the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, the Biodiversity Center, and the School of Biological Sciences. New Interactive Homework Assignments (improved from the older Activities content) drive conceptual understanding. Considering that this was written less than five years from the Scopes Trial, it is a bold, comprehensive account of the scientific knowledge of evolution at the time. The book has a lot of scientific information helpful in getting a good grasp in introductory Biology. I also know that MIT uses this book as well as Harvard, I urge every biology teacher professor to at least have this in their personal library.Advances in understanding the hallmarks of cancer biology and novel therapies have led to an increasing number of survivors of childhood brain tumors (SCBT).
