About this deal

In full disclosure, it’s been a really long time since I read the the first batch of Shatter Me books. I grab my nearly useless pen with the very little ink I’ve learned to ration each day and stare at it. Change my mind. Abandon the effort it takes to write things down. Having a cellmate might be okay. Talking to a real human being might make things easier. I practice using my voice, shaping my lips around the familiar words unfamiliar to my mouth. I practice all day. This is an excerpt from my review of the whole Shatter Me series. Read the full review here: https://bibliomad.wordpress.com/2015/... The Shatter Me series unfolds in a future society ravaged by environmental disasters, political corruption, and a totalitarian regime. The story revolves around Juliette Ferrars, a young woman with a unique and dangerous gift—her touch can be lethal. Isolated and imprisoned for years, she believes herself to be a monster, until she encounters Adam Kent, a soldier with secrets of his own. Their encounter ignites a chain of events that will challenge everything they know and push them to question the nature of power, loyalty, and love.

My dreams are bloody and bleeding and blood is bleeding all over my mind and I can't sleep anymore. There’s some comedic relief thanks to the character Kenji. His character is pretty funny and almost every interaction he and Warner have made me smile. (It’s not because they get along though teehee). Warner's obsession with Juliette is terrifying. And I haven't even truly scratched the surface yet. He really loves his mom. Warner, seems super harsh and cold-hearted, which he can be, but never ever when it comes to his mother. Warner goes through so much to try to get his mother well and puts her before people’s opinion of him. The first time we see him cry is when his mom died and it was heartbreaking. I am baffled by the fact that people find their relationship romantic. I am deeply saddened by the fact that "broken" characters somehow are given the okay to horrifically damage their partners in the name of love. As if the fact that they love this person makes it okay that they hurt them in these ways.Cassady, Emily (Mar–Apr 2012). "Shatter Me (review)". Library Media Connection. 30 (5): 72. Archived from the original on 2014-10-28 . Retrieved 28 October 2014. Juliette is a naturally beauty, described as a short 5 foot, 3 inches with blue-green eyes and luxuriously long, brown hair. Her face is thin, with full pink lips, perfectly straight teeth and cheekbones that rest high upon her face. She used to live with her parents who were incredibly abusive until the incident that changed her life at 14. Now at 17 years old Juliette is in the prime of her youth but she happens to have a strange power that she seems incapable of controlling, keeping her from knowing happiness. The Start of Juliette’s Story Seriously, I couldn't get over how weird and crazy Warner was and then alluva sudden he's all mushy with Juliette and calling her "Love", and I have to say.... their chemistry was.... weird. I dunno, it just wasn't sitting right with me. The short answer is Yes! You can skip the novellas. They aren’t necessary at all to understand the main story.

I press my palm to the small pane of glass and feel the cold clasp my hand in a familiar embrace. We are both alone, both existing as the absence of something else. This is not a dystopia, it is a romance. This is not a novel, it is a collection of similes and metaphors, most of which do not make sense. I originally gave Shatter Me two stars because that's my sort of kneejerk reaction to books I don't like, but after thinking it over for a while, I can't recall anything positive about it that would justify a rating of more than one star. Juliette's "power" or "glitch" or whatever the hell it is, is never fully explained in detail. It's skirted around in a mass of overwrought metaphors and complete bullshit.

Following Juliette Ferrars’ Story

You might be asking yourself, why should I embark on this literary journey? Here are a few compelling reasons why the Shatter Me series should be your next reading adventure: I don’t wake up screaming anymore. I do not feel ill at the sight of blood. I do not flinch before firing a gun.

The story is about 17 year old Juliette Ferrars who has a lethal touch. Anything living she touches dies.

Jullietts "i am not insane" repeated over and over is immitating Carden's letter to Jude in the Cruel Prince (I also remember seeing the same thing in another older book but cant remember the name) She holds on to her frown for a moment longer than is honest, her eyes narrowing in a show of frustration that is pure fraud. She compounds this farce by clutching an article of clothing to her chest, feigning modesty. There are different races and cultures included in this series, along with different sexualities. This series feels like a group hug that anyone is welcome to join. I’ve never been a purple prose type of girl. A book that will forever remain nameless spoke of “leaking wombs” and well it made me shiver. It also introduced me to the entire concept of purple prose. Prose can be beautiful. I’ve read plenty of books where the writing touches me deeply and the author is simply writing about the sunset, or a walk in the park, or the plight of the poor. If the author is able to actually tell a story without distracting the reader with the prose, I’m all for it. the characters also had a good amount of depth and development, which was really surprising for a ya series that I didn't expect much from.

Fracture me & Destroy me او مجتمعين في كتاب واحد هو untie me ، هذه الكتب الثلاث لن تضيف للاحداث شيئا الا انها تزيد الشخصيات عمقا . In April 2017, it was announced that Mafi would be releasing three more books in the Shatter Me series [16] starting with Restore Me, which was published on March 6, 2018. A novella entitled Shadow Me, told from Kenji's perspective, was released on March 5, 2019. A month later, the fifth book in the series, Defy Me, was released. The sixth and final main installment of Shatter Me, titled "Imagine Me", was released on March 31, 2020.
