About this deal

The USB adaptor plug is not included but the cable is compatible with most USB plugs used as phone chargers.

Through the years Gro has continued to create distinctly useful products for parents with their commitment to families remaining unchanged with all our range designed to make parenting easier. We will continue to use both the Gro-Clock and the Gro-Light for many years to come, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. There is also a great reward chart to download from the Gro Company with great tips and a lovely chart, which matches the Gro-clock’s images. They say that the sleep mode is great, and the brightness can be adjusted so it doesn't disturb their sleep.

When setting up the Gro-clock, the instructions say to try not to let your child see you setting the clock up and I wish I had of read that first as Mia watched me playing with the clock and she decided she would quite like to ‘set’ the clock herself for the next week! Some say the clock is effective for the little ones who are good sleepers already, but who like the star. The brightness can be adjusted so it took us a couple of nights to find the perfect brightness for us. USB charger* so there’s no need for batteries (*excludes adaptor plug but compatible with most USB plugs used as phone chargers).

The Gro-clock has an alarm which can be set if you have older children who would benefit from one and although we don’t use this but it would be great for primary school children to get them up in the morning. We love our Gro Clock, Boo loves to say goodnight to the sun each night and tell me that the stars are sleeping – hopefully in a little while she will start to ‘get’ that she needs to stay in bed until it changes to the sun again! Suitable from 2 years, the clock is designed to teach children when it’s time to sleep and when it’s time to wake up, either at nap time or in the morning. I think the Gro products are so amazing and told Phil about the clock when I was still pregnant with Toby!

If they’re not happy or start to get out of bed then we need to ask ourselves if the clock is set too far in the future as smaller shifts towards our desired morning rise time may be better. This sleep aid clock is so easy to set up and use and now you can control everything using our Tommee Tippee app on your smartphone. I’m also mum to the mini traveller – aka 11-year-old Minnie* – and trying to work out how to cling on to normal life by my fingernails. Place it where your child can see it from their bed, but preferably not touch it after lights out (they soon work out how to change the settings!Once I’d got the hang of it, I calmed down – but I recommend taking your first look at the Gro Clock without the children around! But with toddlers, I don’t count on anything staying consistent, so hearing friends talk about their children waiting patiently until ‘day’ sounded ideal. I really want them to achieve this goal and get such an instant sense of achievement because we made it easy for them to do. The Gro-Light is such a soft blue light that offers enough light for reassurance without being stimulating. It comes with a specially written ‘Sleepy Farm’ book (included) and explains that the child should look at the clock to see all the stars in the sky around the moon.

Even when they can’t yet tell the time they will soon learn when they need to close their eyes and go back to sleep and when it’s okay for them to spring out of bed, ready to play. With our remote ‘sleep mode’ function you can leave your child quietly reading in their room then use the app to switch the clock to sleep mode to signal to them that it’s time to go to sleep without you needing to go back into their room. They mention that it's easy to set up and alter wake up times, and it has changed their waking habits completely. Think my sons a little old now at 5 but this would have been great around 3 though knowing my son he would have wanted to touch and play with it and reset everything too! When DS was five he would go downstairs and watch TV until it was a civilised hour and he knew where the cereal was. Fortunately, a combination of me telling her it was night-time, a dark bedroom and her Gro Clock all seemed to keep her quiet for another hour (even if I couldn’t get back to sleep).
