About this deal

For the 9th FIGHT CLUB release in metal packaging (2 x DVD, 1 x futurepak and now 6 x steelbook) great design and love those colours . Before long, Jack and Tyler are beating each other to a pulp in a bar parking lot, a cathartic slugfest that delivers the ultimate high. It’s so grimy and primordial that many years after its release, the ripple effect of its power can still be felt within cinema itself. provides considerable latitude for re-framing during the editing process, which David Fincher may have developed a taste for when working on the various home video editions of Se7en.

While he is skeptical at first, he does and the two discover that they feel alive after their fight, and decide to do it more often. Based on a reader suggestion, I decided to take a look at the various home video versions of Fight Club that are available. Apple have recently changed the availability of 1080p downloads on older version of OSX, which somewhat breaks my review workflow.

A text screen describing what the scene is, and why it was changed or deleted precedes each scene in this section. The Art Gallery features behind-the-scenes photos, lobby cards, pre-production artwork and lots of other goodies. From these sections you can watch various sections, with commentary by the following people - Kevin Haug (visual effects supervisor), Cliff Wenger (special effects coordinator), Kevin Mack (visual effects supervisor for Digital Domain), and Richard 'Doc' Bailey (digital animation supervisor/producer). Projection Booth- Video options include principle photography, location scout, or a split screen of both.

I believe Fight Club is a film of elite status, everything about it speaks to me and was enthralled from opening to close.

If you're interested in the writing and are a fan of either the script or the novel, this is a must listen. Jack’s Condo- You can video from the location scout or principle photography with this sequence, and audio for the location scout is available. It’s also worth mentioning that there are a few framing differences also worth noting: during the final sequence where Tyler/Jack and Marla watch the buildings explode/collapse, the framing on the shot before they hold hands and the shot after they hold hands is different in the 1999 transfer, but identical in the 2008 transfer. A lonely, isolated thirty-something young professional in an unidentified, semi-stylized city, seeks an escape from his ordinary life with the help of a devious soap salesman.

Fight Club' was always a very dark and gritty movie and at times, on the DVD release, the presentation passed over the narrow line of grit and attitude and into the realm of slight indistinguishability. The color palette is also much improved over its DVD counterpart with less haze and much cooler-looking colors, making the images feel a bit more natural. You get the theatrical trailer and teaser trailer, as well as an unused “The Eight Rules Of Fight Club” piece that was finished just for this disc. David Fincher's 'Fight Club,' ten years on, is just as cutting edge and in-your-face as it was a decade ago. This is interesting, as we get to see some of the versatility of Super35, in particular the vertical and horizontal latitude for re-framing. An interactive experience introduced by the sound designer Ren Klyce, in which the user can mix the sounds of selected scenes of the movie. The bad, if there is any, is that there are very few new supplements, though one is quite cool and is a Blu-ray only exclusive. Brain Ride Map- This section has a wealth of drawings concerning this sequence, so you see how the early sketches and descriptions compare to the finished product.
