Adapt your Guitar chords with the Singer’s voice – by being able to change key effortlessly you can easily experiment to find the best key your singer can sing in. You’d be holding a C chord shape, but because the capo has raised the key of the guitar, the actual chord that would be sounded would be D.

The only disadvantage this capo has is the cost, as it is considerably more than it counter parts. However, in my opinion if you are serious about guitar then it is definitely worth every penny. I found it rather awkward to fit and quite often lost patience with it. Once attached it opens up a wealth of different tunings, a lot that would not be possible normally. There are suggestions provided, to get you started. But if we move two columns to the right, you’ll see ‘D’. This means that if the capo was on the 2nd fret and you held a C shape, you would actually be playing a D chord. In other words, some notes are not exactly in tune by design. Then you can twist any combination of individual fingers to create any number of unique tunings. I often see beginner guitarists attaching most capos incorrectly. The most common mistake I see people make is they don’t take enough care when releasing the capo’s handle.Partial capos are fantastic for making the guitar world accessible to people with disabilities. (They make it possible to play chords with one finger and even no fingers.) Primarily a guitar capo is used for changing the key of your instrument. For example, if you place a capo on the second fret of your guitar and play the chord shape that would ordinarily be an open E major, you’ll now be playing an F# major instead. This can be really useful when working with different singers, as they may need the pitch of the song changed to match their respective vocal range. There are two obvious limitations on what the SpiderCapo can do. One is that it can only be used at one fret, so you can’t, for instance, use it to simultaneously raise the A string a tone and the G string half a tone. The other is that any strings you leave uncapo’d can’t be manually fretted at the fret where the SpiderCapo is placed. So, for example, although you can theoretically use the SpiderCapo at the second fret to turn DADGAD into a sort of standard tuning, you cut off the all-important second-fret notes on the A, D and G strings in doing so. It’s not hard to do (it takes less than a second ) and is simply a case of exercising a little care. Take the time to learn how to use a capo properly!
