Our interior varnish dries in only 20 minutes so it won’t leave your wood out of action for too long. If you’re happy with how it looks, apply an even layer of the varnish painting in the direction of the woodgrain. Brings out the natural grain and colour of wooden surfaces – and protects them from household stains including hot water. Prior to application of the final coat or if the overcoating time is exceeded lightly abrade with fine glass paper working with the grain to remove dust.

Existing varnished surfaces which are unsound or in poor condition can be stripped back to bare timber. Before you apply your final coat (whether that’s the second or third), sand down the surface and wipe the dust off with a cloth.

Give the surface a good wipe down with a cloth and white spirit to remove wax, grease, dirt and oil. Some products may be delivered straight to your door from one of our suppliers and these products will be labelled within the product description.

They have traditional wood colours to choose from, and softer looks, if you want something different. We do not currently ship to Northern Ireland, The Channel Islands (or other off shore islands), Isle of Wight, or the Isle of Man. You can use this product on bare of previously varnished wood but it’s not suitable for painted wood. This medium oak interior varnish from the Ronseal Interior diamond hard range can be applied to interior using a brush.
