About this deal

Phase detection, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama, Video (4K@30fps, 1080p@30/120fps; gyro-EIS) The A94 comes with a respectable 8GB of RAM, 2GBs more than the Samsung A52, and it’s great. Camera

The price is the real selling point of the Oppo A94 5G though - despite costing more than its siblings, it’s still great value if you’re looking for next-gen connectivity. For video fans, you can record at up to 4K, but only ever at 30fps - there didn’t seem to be a way to increase the framerate of shooting, even at lower resolutions. Slow-mo goes up to 1080p. The smartphone is powered by a powerful processor, MediaTek MT6779V Helio P95 Octa-core while the GPU is PowerVR GM9446. The device supports Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) and runs on the Android 11 + ColorOS 11.1 operating system. There was one real issue we found with the Oppo A94 5G, and while we’re not sure it’s a wider issue with the phone, or just our review unit, it’s probably safer to bring it up just in case.Main camera: f/1.7, FOV 79°, 6P lens, 25mm equivalent focal length, auto focus, open-loop focus motor The ‘brains of the operation’, so to speak, is the MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset, which is comparable to the Snapdragon 480 used in the other two AX4 phones. It’s paired with 8GB of RAM, which is a lot for a phone at this price, making the Oppo A94 5G feel fairly fast compared to some rivals. The handset likely won’t go on sale in the US, as Oppo doesn’t sell its phones there, but Australian availability is up in the air. While the A94’s siblings are all on sale in the country, this phone isn’t - this makes it unlikely the handset will reach the golden shores, but we can’t say that for certain.

The A94 is more than capable of producing social-media-worthy photos. However, the Samsung A52’s array is slightly better, featuring a 64MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide, a 5MP macro and a 5MP depth sensor. When comparing this phone to others you need to take into account its very reasonable price point and where it is positioned in the market. I think this phone is fantastic value and gives you a high level of performance and features at a fraction of the price of more expensive competitors. I have no hesitation in recommending this phone to others. When we put the handset through the Geekbench 5 benchmark test, it returned a multi-core score of 1641 - the A54 got 1664, and the A74 got 1629, so they’re roughly on par performance-wise. For context, the OnePlus Nord got 1877, the Moto G100 got 2875 and the Realme GT hit 3508 - all these phones are roughly similar in cost, though they do cost a little bit more than the A94 5G.It's Mediatek Helio P95 is a reliable processor and can handle day-to-day tasks efficiently. It has a reliable camera setup and a good enough battery life for average usage. If you're looking for a mid-range smartphone, the Oppo A94 is worth considering. We didn’t list battery life in the ‘cons’ column because some people, light phone users who just want to stream music, scroll through social media and reply to texts, will find the battery just fine. If, like us, you’re prone to frequent gaming sessions, need to use your handset to navigate around a city with lots of mapping, or like to take plenty of pictures, you might find yourself reaching for the charger in the early evening.

The A94 5G comes with a 4310mAh battery. It’s enough to get you through a full day of heavy usage and two days of light use. It’s standard for a mid-range phone. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G chipset, the A94 worked well with high-end games like PUBG. And it’s more than powerful enough for scrolling through social media apps and watching videos. This was a problem with close-up shots (flowers, food etc), and not so much with snaps with a wider field of view. And these pictures were still better than macro ones, which had strangely crushed darker areas and an odd yellowy hue.

Oppo hasn’t officially stated an IP rating of the phone; we’d treat it with caution then, though it’s likely at least splashproof. The Oppo A94 5G has four rear cameras, and it’s the same array as the A54 and A74. Finally, a section in which we don’t need to keep comparing it to its family! With that said, more megapixels on a camera doesn’t always correlate to better photos. Sure, a higher megapixel camera can take in more information; however, it’s only apparent when printing out images on a larger scale. How often do we print out photos taken with our phones? For me, never. The size of the device is 6.43 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. It features triple-camera that consists of 48 MP (wide) + 8 MP (ultrawide) + 2 MP (macro) + 2 MP (depth). On the front, there is a single camera that consists of 32 MP (wide). In addition, there are LED flash, HDR, and panorama. The OPPO A94 uses the Mediatek MT6779V Helio P95 chipset with an Octa-core CPU and PowerVR GM9446 GPU. It is a mid-range phone so the processor that it comes with is good enough for average use. Does OPPO A94 have a fingerprint sensor?
