Just moved into a new build and I'm trying to learn a bit more about the controls for the central heating.

You can also manage your heating using the Hive app so you’re only using the heating when you need to.

The installation guide talks about adapters but if you ask Hive where to get them, they'll tell you they don't exist. I see this has been asked may times and already some suggestions, just wanted to check my particular set up before wasting my 2 days off work! As Peter says, if the boiler was wired to the 230 volt control then the line in could be common so no need to use the earth wire for control, so one would assume volt free type thermostat is required.

You can link the stat out but tbh always better to remove the stat compleatly from the wiring center.

I fitted my first hive a couple of weeks ago and I thought it was the most stupid thing to fit in the world, absolutely no instructions in any of the three things you have to fit. Got a new hive thermostat yesterday as well, and somewhat confused to find it won’t stand up by itself cos of little sticky out bit at the bottom.
