About this deal

The pads on the cups are PU leather covering memory foam pads with a medium depth on the inside walls adjoining a small piece of soft padding covering the driver’s protective grill. The detail throughout the mids sounds excellent, and the instrument or voice feels spaced and uncluttered. Lows/Bass - Inside the case, as mentioned, you get the 99 Neo and then a small pouch full of the accessories, which you attach to the inside of the case with a velcro pad. Comfort: I only own a handful of IEM/headphones, but these are the by far the most comfortable headphone. its very light weight, and the headband very nicely distributes the weight on your skull. Its earpads and very soft and it has very low clamping force even straight out of the box. If you are wearing in a hot environment then it will obviously get warm, but other than that its pretty comfortable. The earcups are soft and cushiony and when I put them on, my ears dont the insideof the headphone. But I have to say when you are listening to songs and if your hand or anything hits the metal headband or the earcups then the sound is amplified, but its not really that much of a problem.

Meze Audio - Sound. Comfort. Design. True high-end.

Nonethelesss this kind of bass cleared up many bassy recordings from their weakness and made them sound great, specially older Karajan recordings and some of the Bach cantatas on the Hnassler klassik series with Helmuth Rilling Bachakademie Stuttgart. Our aim is to change the perception of headphones as technical devices or as cheap plastic accessories and create a mature product to fall in love with. Wood Technology Using the same driver as the award winning 99 Classics, the Meze 99 Neo strives for precision in... The Meze experience has always been of a premium variety and the LIRIC is no different. Coming in a large padded box, inside a form-fitting cardboard box, which is inside yet another cardboard box; the Meze is well protected. The sound signature is tuned for long listening sessions same as the ergonomics: clarity without harshness, freshness without fatigue.Really strong bass elevation with only moderate roll-off towards the sub-bass. Lots of impact and punch. The low end is not what I would call technically perfect, but in the overall tuning context, it works very well to round off the 99 Classics sound. You get bass that extends fairly deep but not into the bass-heavy territory. Essentially styling and build quality are excellent, and the changes can be seen in the materials for the earcups and the sound signature. Pricing and Availability As over-ear headphones, the 99 Noirs envelop your ears, keeping your music in and the world out. About the Massdrop x Meze 99 Noir Headphones There are actually 4 versions of the DT 880's: 32, 80, 250, and the older (harder to find) 600's. (I don't think you can get the 600's new any longer though.) The 80's definitely have more low end, but I've seen that the others, the 32, 250, and 600, all have more or less the same sound signature.

MIDS: Mid tones give lot of details and instrument separation. Sounds of pianos and guitars are lifelike. Vocals too are presented well and in detail. You can hear every whisper and breathe. They appear a bit forward of soundstage. Right after unboxing I plugged in the Liric into the Singxer SA-1 that was fed by the Denafrips Ares II and started listening. I wasn't immediately wowed like the first time I was listening to the Empyrean. But some headphones just need some time to grow on you. The sleek look and substantial feel of the Liric is just impressive, I doesn't have the majestic grandeur of the Empyrean, but lets you know and feel that you have a well engineered and durable headphone in your hand with a penchant for understatement. Also very comfortable to wear for long listening sessions (like the Empyrean). As such, the LCD3 sounds voluminous as a result, with better bass depth and feel. Mids do sound a bit too far forward comparatively, but the detail wrought from within is right up there with the best I have heard or prefer might be the better term. Getting past my lust for the LCD3, the LIRIC does compete well with the overall qualities with a very solid fully functional sound that does not offend. The LIRIC can hold its own here, but to me is not equal. Joe Walsh’s sublime guitar work on the live version of Hotel California simply melts me through the LCD3. I respect it through the LIRIC. There is the difference.Comfort - The pads feel plush and comfortable around the ear and on the head; the headphone is fairly light-weight, and brings overall strong comfort. We would've really liked to see options for other ear pad materials. Though the included ones feel wonderful and are plushy—Meze has even included multiple pairs you can swap between if you prefer firm or mushy foam—we would still like to see a velour or more breathable leather. My ears didn't get too toasty with these on in March, but in the summer months I can definitely see myself needing to take a break now and then. We’re pretty spoiled when it comes to good gear and good headphones, but this is one is extra special… What a masterpiece. stars: The product is only about average or even somewhat below that and somewhat flawed/flawed in some areas. [neither "Thumbs Up" nor "Thumbs Down"] Build quality is excellent, everything is finished to a very high standard, and there was nothing to complain about in manufacturing. I mention in the classic review that this is one of the best headphone designs of the past few years. It is a modern take on a classic design and has been pulled off in a classy way.
