We carried infants from 4 weeks to 11 months old, and toddlers from 12 to 30 months. Our testers included petite, average-size, and plus-size parents, to ensure appropriate adjustability for all shapes and sizes. I wanted to buy this 8 for my first, but got the Gemini instead because it was in my budget. I loved and still love that Gemini. But when I saw this price for the BECO 8 I decided to spoil my second with a new carrier. Below I'll talk about the differences in case anyone else is choosing between them. So, my first impression was that this carrier is pretty similar to a Gemini. The seat base is a bit wider, and the panel is a little taller, but the fit is similar. My baby jusssst fit without the infant insert, but we may use it for a few more weeks to be on the safe side.I love my BECO carriers! This 8 is by far the most comfortable carrier I've used. If you are choosing between this and the ergobaby, I'd go with this hands down. The cross straps make a huge difference for me. Babies love being held close to mom or dad, feeling the warm comfort of their chest and the gentle rhythm of their breathing and heartbeat. But unless you're Ronda Rousey or Mark Wahlberg, your arms and shoulders are going to get very tired from lugging around a growing baby all day. That's where baby wraps and slings and soft-structured baby carriers come in! Count on Comfort: A zippable, ventilated 3D mesh panel makes this an excellent baby chest carrier for all seasons! Note that we do not include any ring sling-style carriers on our list, given the safety concerns with these carriers. Specifically, while ring slings can be very comfortable and safe when used correctly (and with the appropriate baby ages and sizes), there have been some cases of misuse and negligence. Baby Carrier Ease of Use Nathasha: I feel a lot more confident carrying my baby on my own and just using it ad hoc around the house, even when doing the gardening. I felt the breathability aspect was particularly useful as I felt my baby was actually cooler in the summer heat when I was trying out the carrier. My baby really seemed to enjoy facing outwards in this carrier and would sit in it even on the tube for long periods of time which he never would have done in our other carrier. Would you choose this product to win?The Ergo fit low on me despite many adjustments and just felt odd, additionally it only goes up to 33lbs which I worried would leave me with a short usage period. It did have a easy conversion to forward facing out, but to me it seemed like the fabric was pinching the baby's legs a bit Some carriers look great, feel great, and are super comfortable and reliable, but are a total pain in the butt to put on, take off, or adjust. Carriers have come a long way in terms of convenience and ease of use, but some are still quite poor in this regard. Baby Carrier Comfort & Breathability Has that contoured, close to baby hugging feel of a wrap carrier but with the ergonomic support and ease of a structured carrier.

Keri: The Beco sling is brilliant, it makes life far easier for me as a mum because short trips to the shops can be done carrying my little one, instead of the hassle of using a pushchair. It means that you can get out and about and into smaller spaces with your baby. Also, it’s so comforting for your baby to be so close to you!Baby-wearing is more popular than ever, providing an easy way for parents to keep their little ones nearby and protected while in and out of the house. Kate: Compared to other products I have used, this carrier is a bit bulkier and heavy. This would be expected in this carrier as it has lots of additional features compared to other carriers I have used. Perhaps the addition of a bag to put the carrier in might help make it feel smaller and more compact as I feel it currently takes up a lot of room when placed in the bottom of the pushchair for days out. I love the zip down panel feature. I took baby girl for a walk today and it was in the 70s and very sunny, and she didn’t sweat at all. The carrier felt like it would be pretty warm with the panel zipped up, which will be nice for when we visit family in Michigan. The hood worked pretty well to keep the sun off her head. The soft-structured baby carrier provides you with all the intimacy and versatility of a baby wrap, with added convenience and ease of use. A baby carrier is faster to put on and take off ("don and doff") than a baby wrap, will provide more substantial support for a growing infant and toddler, and is generally more comfortable for longer journeys.
