Some of the language used to describe the steamy scenes put me off a bit... like "slurp" and labia (I tend to prefer less technical terms) 🫣 Do you ever replace words in your head when you're reading something if you would have personally said something different? I found myself doing that a lot... So yeah, they were perfect for each other and loved each other so much but I don’t really know how because I feel like they never talked. The level of communication they are at is like third date grade max. Not a 2 (I think) months relationship. The public’s perception of Hayes Hollings needs to be polished badly. He’s gotten into fights at bars, drank excessively, and slept with a few too many women. After consulting with his bros, he concludes that a sham relationship is the best course of action. But Aeris Relera and genuine emotion were surprises.

This was also supposed to be a fake-dating trope ?? How? One part was just lying to the other about fake dating them until they actually caught feelings. Fake dating trope is when both parties agree to said fake dating :/ Aeris has grown to accept that she’s not destined for what love has to offer, but when Hayes rewrites her fate, she’s thrown into an internal battle that has her stretched between giving love a shot or keeping her distance from the Riverside Reapers’ biggest playboy. Hayes might seem like the perfect guy to help Aeris learn how to love again, but little does she know that he’s harboring a secret big enough to ruin her completely. Details About The Best Kind of Forever i love me a good epilogue but come on hayes... ring in the champagne- your girl nearly choked to death but at least you proposed lmao

General Thoughts: Congrats to the author on a wonderful debut! There were many things I loved about this one. I loved the depth the author gave her main characters. I loved how she showed them working through things, growing, and growing into each other. Aeris and Hayes had a great connection from the get-go. While some have called it insta-love, I wouldn't. Insta attraction, yes. But that attraction was more than look based. The characters really understood each other deeply, and I loved that. During your commute: If you take public transportation or have a long commute, you may find it helpful to use that time to read.

This book was a slow start for me. It took about 15% for me to get used to the writing style. I feel like I wanted more deep conversations between Aeris and Hayes. I just wanted them to have more swoony butterfly moments. I also definitely found it weird that Aeris’ father randomly found out about the fake dating before Aeris. It seemed as if it was super left field. I did not expect these characters to be 24+ years old. They talk and act as if they are teenagers. The chapters were short which was both nice and horrible…because while they were short, the scene kept changing so fast that one second you are in a game and the next you’re in a room with friends playing dare or drink.

Aeris and Hayes are so good together. Hayes never was mean spirited in him starting a "fake" relationship with Aeris in the beginning. I do believe that he did have good intensions. Therefore, I was a fan of his and only became more of a fan as I got to know him better. Aeris is a feisty FMC. She had be cheering for from the beginning. Together these two brought the steamy goodness. Some things I thought have been better: Somehow, for all of the couple's attraction, and connection, I wanted more from their romance together. You could see the conflict brewing from miles away, and I thought that should have been handled differently. That's all I'll say here for spoilers. There were a few things I thought could have been executed slightly better as well. i have to say i love lila. like can she be my bestie ?! she was the bestest (ik its not a word) friend to aeris and was so supportive and she was getting it on with bristol hehehe
