GO TELL THE BEES THAT I AM GONE (aka “BEES”) is the ninth book in my OUTLANDER series of novels which focus on Jamie Fraser and Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser. BEES follows WRITTEN IN MY OWN HEART’S BLOOD, aka "MOBY," which is the eighth book in my OUTLANDER series. What I didn't expect though was how much this book would blow me away. It was so beautifully written I could picture everything clearly. I loved the main characters and the story unfolded slowly but still it never was boring. Also I loved how the drama wasn't too long and that there were way more happy moments. It's so beautiful to read that and even more beautiful to read about it all working out in the end. It's so rare to get that and it made me so happy.

stars. I loved the small town feel and the forbidden romance of it all. The writing was gorgeous and I really liked how the author told this story. We get three pov’s: Lydia, Jean, and Lydia’s son, Charlie. Those are our main characters and I came to really care for all three of them by the end. Clarke, Stewart (10 August 2017). These all seem to tie in with the ideas of the bee liking peace and harmony. In Maryland, it was recorded that bees would not harm anyone who showed a good disposition. And in England, it was recorded in William Ellis’ 1750 book Modern Husbandman that:

Tell It to the Bees is a 2018 British romantic drama film directed by Annabel Jankel and starring Anna Paquin and Holliday Grainger. The screenplay by Henrietta and Jessica Ashworth [1] is based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Fiona Shaw. [2]

Not so far away, young William Ransom is still coming to terms with the discovery of his true father’s identity—and thus his own—and Lord John Grey has reconciliations to make, and dangers to meet, on his son’s behalf, and his own. Some of the film’s lovelier assets include the work of cinematographer Bartosz Nalazek. He captures the luscious greenery of the English countryside, the ever-grey skies, the drab homes and muddy streets of the town. Even in the midst of chaos, there’s a sense of calm in the naturalistic scenery. Claire M. Singer’s score keeps the music flowing alongside the buzz of bees. Lydia Weekes is distraught at the break-up of her marriage. When her young son, Charlie, makes friends with the local doctor, Jean Markham, Lydia’s life is turned upside down. Other residents of the Ridge also have their challenges. Frances (Fanny), the girl William rescued in the previous book, lives with Jamie and Claire. It takes a long time for her to believe that she is safe with them and doesn't have to worry about her future. Her grief for her sister profoundly affects her life, and I ached for everything she experienced in her short life. She is an interesting mixture of innocence and experience, and some of the things she says are both funny and heartbreaking. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for her. a b c d W. Kite, "Telling the Bees," The Magazine of American History with Notes and Queries 21 (A. S. Barnes & Company, 1889), 523. In the U.S., the film was made available as VOD on 3 May 2019. [6] Reception [ edit ] Critical response [ edit ] Charlie’s father leaves him and his mother for another woman, and Charlie – bearing his mother’s sadness on top of his own – withdraws further into himself and the world of the bees. Jean eventually invites Lydia and Charlie to dinner; from there, Jean and Lydia form a tentative connection of their own through Jean’s library. Ellis came from the county of Hertfordshire, where he farmed at Little Gaddesden, and so it is safe to assume thatThe screenwriters for Tell it to the Bees wanted to give the film a “sweeping romantic ending”, like Brief Encounter or Dr Zhivago. But they wanted them to have a divided happiness – one of them can have the happiness of staying in the town to have a fulfilling career; and the other can have the future happiness of finding love in a more tolerant place. But they can’t have those two things in the same place and with each other. In some parts of the Pyrenees one custom includes "burying an old garment belonging to the deceased under the bench where the bee-hives stand, and they never sell, give away, nor exchange the bees of the dead." [5] Charlie befriends Jean and bee keeps for her. Jean is a doctor and Lydia is a woman in a failing marriage. I liked their relationship a lot though I will say that I felt it could’ve been a bit more developed. I feel like they didn’t really know each other as we don’t really get to see them have really meaningful and bonding moments. I wanted to see why they were so attracted to each other and feel more of their connection. Tell it to the Bees is now a feature film, starring Anna Paquin, Holliday Grainger, and newcomer Gregor Selkirk. Premiered at Toronto Film Festival, 2018. Released UK: July 2019 In May 2017, the producers announced that Holliday Grainger was to star in the film. [13] In August 2017, Anna Paquin joined the cast as Doctor Jean Markham.
