About this deal

As things have changed, the performance of these revamped New Balance Fresh Foam 880 v12 's feel with a better ride, and also a more adaptive fit and support with the redesign. I do think the rubber coverage could be toned down and better segmented upfront and at the heel with forefoot cushion added. Both have fine true to size uppers and extensive durable rubber coverage although I find the Mizuno’s deeply decoupled heel easier to roll forward. I understand that the hypoknit material is likely reserved to separate the 880 from the 1080 but there are many other features that separate the two and a hypoknit upper would make the 880 that much more comfortable.

It has a “smarter” outsole design with plenty of rubber and a more aggressive lug profile making them suitable for light trails. As well as this, a no-sew material application means reduced weight plus a minimal risk of rubbing and blisters; because everyone knows how those can ruin your day. Clearly a visual cue, if not a practical one, that the 880 v13 is all about durability more than light weight or speed. g. Garage Gym Reviews) and judged many awards, such as the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance's ESSNawards.Sam: Despite being a bit low and pointy upfront the Velociti Wind’s upper is considerably more secure and locked down than 880’s and is my preference. It’s a good mix, and one that I will be shocked if it isn’t emulated by other companies in the near future. The two foams maintain the same hardness but FuelCell is slightly more dense making it less softer and more responsive. As far as uppers I prefer the more consistent, comfortable front to back fit of the 880 for all but faster paced runs.

New Balance are touting the 880 V12 as the “softest” 880 yet, featuring a dual layer midsole construction. It can be a great one shoe quiver type of shoe that provides a slightly soft ride with a slightly dynamic toe off, and should appeal to many types of runners. Our testers found it to be versatile enough for everything from uptempo workouts to long runs, though a max-cushion shoe like the New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080 may be preferable once distance gets into the double digits. They are not the bounciest or most dynamic feeling shoes in my quiver, but the ride is very enjoyable. It’s foam is a bit firmer while its ride is not as firm overall as it has considerably less (if very adequate) outsole coverage, the secret to its lighter weight and more agile quicker ride. The midsole is also able to follow the natural bending on the foot, allowing the feet to move comfortably in a range of directions.

oz for the 880 with a denser higher (front and back stack of foam and lower 5mm drop, the made in Italy Atomo is more rigid and rocker based vs. I’d take them if I was going out for more than 10 miles or if I was doing tempo, but the 880 is a very comfortable ride to take out on most days. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH).As well as delivering exceptional comfort, the upper also actively and efficiently wicks away the build-up of excess sweat and moisture to leave you feeling cool, dry and comfortable as you strive for the best results and performance. Designed as a cushioned yet responsive feeling road running shoe, the 880v12 is a great option for those looking for a more traditional heel to forefoot drop but a more nimble shoe for their everyday road running sessions. The Puma Nitro supercritical foam is softer and bouncier while up front both have a denser layer for toe off impulse. The Fresh Foam X 880v12 represents a new generation set-up of the silhouette’s workhorse reliability with the smooth transitions of a reimagined dual-layer midsole.
