I haven’t been the biggest fan of ‘The Graduate’ except for its ending which, in my opinion, is one of the finest ever in cinema. It’s quite difficult to relate to a coming-of-drama that’s more than 50 years old. But there are some amazing moments in the film that still hold up well and manage to move me tremendously. ‘The Graduate’ was a trendsetting phenomenon that changed the way coming-of-dramas were made. The feeling of angst and sexual tension felt by Benjamin is palpable. He is seduced by the wife of his father’s business partner but ends up falling in love with her daughter. As I said, it might not hold up well for modern audiences, but it’s still an incredible experience and an absolute fun ride. The twist in the Australian film Beautiful Kate is that Kate had sex with her twin brother Ned and older brother Cliff. Cliff then killed her in a car crash and committed suicide out of shame. An incest taboo is any cultural rule or norm that prohibits sexual relations between certain members of the same family, mainly between individuals related by blood. All human cultures [ disputed – discuss] have norms that exclude certain close relatives from those considered suitable or permissible sexual or marriage partners, making such relationships taboo. However, different norms exist among cultures as to which blood relations are permissible as sexual partners and which are not. Sexual relations between related persons which are subject to the taboo are called incestuous relationships. The House of Yes: the twins blatantly admit to their incestuous behavior, much to their younger siblings' disgust.This also happened with Erica's eldest daughter, Kendall Hart-Slater, not once, but twice! First with her half-brother Trey Kenyon whom she felt an instant connection and attraction to but didn't know why, and who came to town specifically looking for his family, fell in lust with her and almost slept with her before it was revealed that she was his sister. The second time was with her other half-brother Joshua Madden, who looked exactly like her but male, and who spent the majority of his time shamelessly flirting with her. His adopted father knew he was her brother, was keeping it a secret because Josh's adoption was far from legal as he was literally stolen from Erica's womb and implanted by Dr. Madden into his barren wife, and became increasingly concerned and unhinged as he realized that Kendall and Josh were becoming closer and closer and heading from friend territory into sexual partner land. When people say European cinema, the names most often mentioned are Andrei Tarkovsky, Ingmar Bergman, Jean Luc-Godard, Luis Bunuel, Michael Haneke, and so on and so forth. But Krzysztof Kieslowski‘s name is often sadly overlooked, and in my humble opinion, he’s right up there with the aforementioned greats as one of the finest auteurs European cinema has ever produced. He had this ability to get so deeply personal and intimate that it leaves you soaked in a plethora of emotions. Scarface: Tony Montana's violent protectiveness toward his sister Gina has definite elements of this, inspired by the 1932 film it was a remake of, which had its title character carrying on the same kind of relationship with his own sister. This, combined with the effects of his increasing cocaine addiction, culminates in Tony gunning down his best friend Manny after catching him with her (and after she and Manny had gotten married, no less). Gina confronts Tony near the end about it as his mansion is being besieged by Sosa's killers and tries to kill him, but Sosa's men get her before she can reach him. This, among other things, is what finally drives Tony to take up his M-16 and go out with guns blazing.

They stopped the relationship for a while, and Beth even became engaged to Rhys' best friend, Gilly. However, during this time it is strongly implied that the two still have feelings for one another and they eventually restarted their relationship in secret. After the relationship was discovered, Rhys and Beth ran away, but they were in a car accident and Beth was killed, neatly dealing with that storyline.
