Alexandra Potter is the bestselling author of romantic comedy fiction novels in the UK, including Me and Mr Darcy. She's mentioned it - as anyone would if their book is set during that time - but it's not a main plot point.

Potentially a few triggers so worth looking in to but really enjoyable follow up and would highly recommend.Nell is all set to marry Edward when she discovers she still has the chance to have a baby should she decide to, but after realising her and Edward are not on the same page she decides she needs to explore this option further and her and Edward go their separate ways. Thankfully it was easy enough to catch up and work most of it out, except now I want to read book one because what a TREAT! She learns not only that ‘while broken hearts heal…you never forget’, but also the need to be true to yourself.

Life, like us, is a sum of moving parts, and if we’re lucky, we get to keep f**king up, figuring it out and laughing in the face of it all. instead of Nell just writing an obituary column and interviewing a family member to do so as the book has it, in the show she can see and talk to the dead people. It showcases the joy of inter generational relationships and explores loss grief and joy in a gentle but informative way.Did you know with a Digital subscription to Yorkshire Post, you can get access to all of our premium content, as well as benefiting from fewer ads, loyalty rewards and much more. I was thrilled when I heard a second Confessions book was written and delighted to be approved by NetGalley to read and review! Celia Walden, Telegraph The story of Nell Stevens’ struggle through her imperfect, messy life doesn’t just make brilliant fiction, it’s turning into a cultural revolution! First of all, thank you NetGalley, Pan Macmillan, and Alexandra Potter for allowing me access to this e-ARC! It has proved to be a quick read – at least, it is when you find you don’t want to put the book down. Nell’s life seems to be going as planned for once, she survived the Covid lockdowns, she’s getting married, she’s still busy writing obituaries, her friends are ok and her frenemy Annabel isn’t giving her such a hard time lately… That is until everything seems to fall apart again.I enjoyed the main characters in this book, especially Cricket, Nell's octogenarian best friend, who definitely doesn't act her age and doesnt care what others think! I admit I winced when I weighed this thick tome in my hands and I raised my eyebrows at the title but I really didn’t need to.
