Cure time: 4 weeks To finish, apply a second coat of Mod Podge® and apply it beginning in the middle and gently brushing out to the edges. Have patience. Don’t rush the project. HOWEVER – if you live in Seattle and your project is constantly rained on or you live in Arizona and the sun is beating down on your craft all the time, I suggest another sealer that is waterpoof and/or UV resistant on top. Lacquer– A clear, glossy finish that is applied with a brush or sprayed on. Best used on smooth surfaces.

People make glitter mugs all the time with this medium and they last for a long time after repeated dishwasher runs. Is Mod Podge permanent (since it isn’t waterproof)? I always trim my paper or fabric to fit my surface exactly so that I don’t have to mess with overlap. It’s can be very difficult to trim edges of paper or fabric after a surface has been Mod Podged. So while I can’t *technically* say the product is permanent, you’re going to have a hard time removing it. Do you need to seal Mod Podge? ust be sure to wipe your shoes off when you get home if you walk in puddles! You can also clean your shoes with a warm, wet cloth.Or you want to put fabric on a bookcase in yourkid’s playroom and you know it needs to withstand some wear and tear. That’s when you would use Hard Coat! It is a step above basic Mod Podge . . . it’s tougher. You can use regular taklon or natural bristle brushes found at your local craft retailer. I use a soft bristled, 1” brush in most instances. It is HIGHLY water resistant (more so than regular Podge). Clean your project surface. It is surprising how much dirt and grease can get onto glassware, even the oils in your skin can disrupt the paint and varnish. Wash glass, ceramic, and metal with warm soapy water rinse thoroughly and let dry. Or you can dry rubbing alcohol or white spirit to clean it, just make sure it is dry before you start. Cut the design out of the napkin, separate the layers and discard the two bottom white layers.Using your brush, apply a coat of Mod Podge over the design, allowing 15 – 30 minutes between coats. Let project dry inside at least 3 – 7 days before placing outdoors.

You can’t submerge an item that’s been Podged with Outdoor for an extended period of time, so it’s not technically “waterproof.” But it’s really, really close.Do I really have to wait 4 weeks to use my project??“Dry” is different than “cured.” The bottle instructs that you wait quite awhile for curing. But your project will dry to the touch in hours. What you are (essentially) going to do is cut out shapes from something like paper or fabric, and then attach them to a surface. You will use Mod Podge to glue down the shape to the surface. Ultra can be used as a topcoat once the project surface is thoroughly dry. Simply spray, brush-on, or pour on an additional application for an added scratch-resistant, durable finish.You don’t need anything separate. How long will it take my project to cure? This formulation can be used to create appliques and decals using any of your original photos and is also able to transfer images onto wood or fabric. It may take some time for you to master the use of this mod podge, but once you have, the sky is the limit to what you can transfer.
