From the noted French brand Pebeo, this set is for marbling fans looking to expand and upgrade their tools. The masterful Jenny Muncaster has here shown us how to create some mystical, galaxy-inspired decorations using Pebeo silver gilding leaves and acrylic paints. Within every recommended brand of paint, every color used to be different, and some, you could never get to float, others simply spread too much.

As the paint spreads out on the surface some may sink to the bottom - it's ok as long as most of it stays on the surface. Make matching notecards, papers and envelopes (see Sue’s tips in the introduction); place inside pockets of the wallet, to finish. This kit comes with 5 colours, A4 container tay, marbling comb, marbling mediums, dropper sponge, skewer and paintbrushes, as well as instruction booklet guiding you through the technique. The marbling process requires a vat filled with gelatinous size, made from water thickened with carrageenan or tragacanth. There are several techniques to experiment with, but the kit includes reusable paper dots that can be employed to disperse and swirl the paint.
The paints are primary colours with black and white to enable you to mix your own shades to expand the colour range you can produce. If you are working with anything other than the Jacquard Marbling Colors, some paints will spread faster and push others out of the way more, you should keep notes if you want to repeat effects.

Marbling patterns are not drawn by the marbler alone, but by a combination of the manual, chemical and natural phenomena acting on the pigments as they float. The water-based paints are vivid and glossy when dry and can be mixed together to create new shades. Polymer clay, like Fimo, is a fantastic material to craft with as it's easy to mould, comes in a huge range of colours, and the finished product is tough and durable- making it perfect for jewellery!
