Benny’s Space Squad is designed very much using the same design philosophy as The LEGO Movie 1’s Double-Decker Couch: Give the fans what they want in the most inexpensive set of the theme. I mean, it's been over four years now, and it sounds like they were fully aware that they'd pushed the limit. Classic Space isn't much of a focus for me and the Lego Movie stuff (first or second) isn't a huge draw either. Exo-suit suffered the same issue; they're held on by the claws too, but a gentle breeze will loosen them.

The LEGO Movie 2 The Second Part theme was released in 2018 based on the movie and based on the movie The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. Sets in the theme are based on the heroes of Bricksburg and their adventures to save their beloved city from LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. Here’s a comparison between an actual Classic Space Yellow space minifigure from my personal collection who is on the left, and Kenny who is on the right.

The build is not complicated: I spilled the parts over the a couple of old grey baseplates, and put together the minifigures.

Benny was among the most popular characters to appear in The LEGO Movie from 2014, as one might expect given his origins in Classic Space. By signing up you agree with this and confirm that you are over 13 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. Where exactly are you going to put all of them, 2700 sets, even small sets, would take up a lot of room? Accessory elements include an air tank and helmet for each minifigure, Benny's walkie-talkie, Lenny's wrench and Kenny's metal detector.

The inclusion of Lenny, the new Pink Classic Spaceman is another master-stroke as it effectively expands the Classic Space universe in the same way that the Exo Suit did.

Robots are a perennial feature of Classic Space sets and this example looks familiar as it also appeared in 70816 Benny's Spaceship, Spaceship SPACESHIP!

The set only contains 68 pieces but evokes the distinctive design of Classic Space vehicles and comes with four astronauts, one of whom is wearing brand new pink attire!Only five different colours appeared during the original Classic Space series and a green version became available with 21109 Exo Suit in 2014.
