About this deal

Found this to be a great release mainly for the book style and retro inspired art work the 4K restoration is not perfect but tbh it will never be due to its original quality but it still does not Impact the enjoyment of the movie and as everyone has stated one of jcvd’s best movies! Bloodsport approximates the film's original theatrical aspect ratio by filling the entire 16:9 enhanced screen. Chong Li fights Parades, whose longer reach lets him land various combination punches that jar Chong Li. The fight choreography is not at the level of the best Hong Kong films of the time, but it was a lot better than what American viewers were used to seeing in Hollywood action films. On the mat, screaming in frustration, Dux suddenly clears his mind and appears to go into a meditative trance.

Given the shortcomings listed above, the film sounds like a losing proposition, and it would be except that the filmmakers never lose sight of the fact that watching skilled men fight no holds-barred in a variety of styles can be pretty entertaining.

The officials all stand and turn their backs to Chong Li, facing the wall and bowing their heads in a moment of silence. Hyams also seems to have a retro-commitment to providing gratuitous violence, nudity, and one-liners after killings that will no doubt endear him to fans of 80s action films. Anyone else should be directed elsewhere in the Muscles from Brussels' oeuvre, like the underrated 'Die Hard'-in-a-hockey-stadium thriller 'Sudden Death. Overview - The world’s martial arts championship isn’t a sport: it’s a war when Van Damme enters the arena. Max is a dedicated agent who has all but given up on the idea of having a personal life since the murder of his wife ten years earlier.

Hossein is amused and overly cocky at the challenge, but the smirk is wiped off his face when Dux succeeds in grabbing the coin. But these were fleeting moments that didn't do much to bolster my overall appraisal of the visual presentation. To properly demonstrate the Dim Mak, Dux must shatter the bottom-most brick without damaging either of the two bricks stacked atop it. Neither of these presentations will lend themselves to use as home theater demo material, but both seem to be fairly accurate replications of how the films appeared in theaters. Disc Limited Collector's Edition, Mediabook with Film in 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Vision for the first time, HDR10+ and HDR10 on UHD Blu-ray and in High Definition on Blu-ray.Whisper to scream dynamics and frequent directional effects are rendered with precision and accuracy.

The first-round bouts are conducted, showing several participants standing out as victorious and forces to be reckoned with -- a Polynesian fighter named Parades (Michel Qissi), a Chinese kung-fu fighter named Chuan Ip Mung (Dennis Chu), a big and burly Japanese Sumo fighter named Pumola (David Ho), a Muay Thai kickboxer named Paco (Paulo Tocha), Jackson, and Chong Li, who is the current champion.

The general effect is a slight haziness to the image which becomes more noticeable during optical fades and titles due to increased grain. While in Hong Kong, Dux befriends a rowdy American fighter named Ray Jackson (Gibb) and a reporter named Janice Kent (Ayres). Director Newt Arnold, who actually has more credits to his name as a first assistant director than as a director, understands how to stage an action scene, and as long as people are training, fighting, fleeing, or chasing, which proves to be something like half of the running time, the movie is working. Description: In his youth, American Frank Dux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) was taught the art of ninjitsu by Japanese martial arts master Senzo Tanaka.
