About this deal

Create multiple LAN and WLAN groups and assign them to the respective UniFi devices and VLAN tags. Predictive maps Upload a map or use Google Maps to represent the areas where your UniFi devices are located. Use the predictive map feature to get a preview of coverage and to help you avoid dead spots (available version 5.6 or higher). Wireless Uplink Configure custom settings, including authentication, Hotspot setup, and the option to use your own external portal server. 802.11ac MU-MIMO technology Indicates the device is in an isolated state (all WLANs are brought down until an uplink is found). Ceiling The UAP FlexHD is mounted in a ceiling tile (requires optional recessed ceiling mount assembly, sold separately).

The Cloud Keys are different. They are not gateways or routers, they only run UniFi OS applications. I’m including them to make comparing which models run which UniFi OS applications easier. Cloud Keys require the use of the USG, USG-Pro, UXG-Lite, UXG-Pro, or some 3rd party router or firewall. Spatial Streams At any single time, a Wave 2 AP can communicate with the following MU-MIMO clients:Please note: If you are mounting the UAP-FlexHD outdoors, it must be installed in the upright position, with the Ubiquiti logo facing up, to prevent water from getting into the base of the device. Initial 802.11ac Wave 1 SU-MIMO (Single-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output) technology allows an earlier-generation AP, such as the UniFi AC Pro AP, to communicate with only one client at a time. A 4x4 Wave 2 AP delivers up to 33% greater performance than a Wave 1 AP that is 3x3 in both radio bands. High-Density Scenarios

Wave 2 MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output) technology allows a Wave 2 AP, such as the UniFi AP Flex HD, to communicate with multiple clients at the same time – significantly increasing multi-user throughput and overall user experience. The following describes a 4-client scenario: The Ubiquiti UAP-FlexHD UniFi Indoor/Outdoor WiFi 5 PoE Access Point combines enterprise performance, unlimited scalability, and a central management controller. The UAP-FlexHD access point has a small, sleek design and compact form factor that can easily be deployed. With flexible mounting options (see accessories tab), the Flex HD can be deployed on tabletops, walls, ceilings and poles. Key Features Desktop The UAP FlexHD stands freely on a horizontal surface such as a desktop or table/shelf. Good for temporary installations. The quoted wireless specification is given as the maximum radio performance. Achievable range and throughput will vary depending on the regional regulations where the radio is deployed. All UniFi Gateways, Cloud Gateways, and UniFi OS Consoles, as of November 2023. See my UniFi Router Comparison for more details. For clarity I've separated them into categories based on their role. Unlimited scalability: build wireless networks as big or small as needed while maintaining a single unified management system

Shielded Category 5 (or above) cabling should be used for all outdoor wired Ethernet connections and should be grounded through the AC ground of the PoE. It’s also possible to monitor your wireless networks on the move, thanks to Ubiquiti’s free iOS and Android mobile apps. With the former loaded on our iPad, we were able to log into our cloud account in moments, and gain access to all of the same monitoring features that are available in the UNC console. As for performance, we have to say that the FlexHD did astonishingly well in our tests. Close-range file copies from a Windows 10 desktop equipped with a Linksys WUSB6400 802.11ac adapter completed at a terrific average of 71MB/sec, and dropped only to 64MB/sec from a distance of ten metres. The UniFi FlexHD is a dual-band AP, with a 2.4GHz 2x2 MIMO radio and a 5GHz 802.11ac-Wave2 4x4 MU-MIMO radio. The AP is powered via 802.3af PoE, using a single Gigabit Ethernet port located near the base. Ready to Mesh We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons: When it comes to a small and sleek form factor, the UniFi FlexHD Access Point is one of the smallest and sleekest Access Points on the market. Less than 160mm tall, and with a diameter of only 48.5mm, the UniFi FlexHD can be deployed almost anywhere and deliver exceptional wireless performance, even outdoors. Enterprise-Ready Performance Wireless Uplink functionality enables wireless connectivity between APs for extended range, wireless adoption of APs in their default state, and real-time changes to network topology. Guest Portal/Hotspot All UniFi Cloud Gateways, as of November 2023. These models are newer, and they all run UniFi OS. They have been called UniFi OS Consoles, Gateway Consoles, and now Cloud Gateways. They act as routers or firewalls, and also run the UniFi software applications like Network and Protect. These can’t be used with Cloud Keys, cloud services, or a self-hosted UniFi Network application.

With the advantages of MU-MIMO technology and 4x4 spatial streams, the UniFi AP Flex HD can support more than triple the number of users than a typical Wave 1 AP. In practice, the maximum number of users the UniFi AP Flex HD can support is limited by radio link airtime. This depends on the amount of traffic each device creates, types of devices, network configuration, and the presence of other APs on the same channel. Versatile Mounting Options A 4x4 Wave 2 AP delivers up to 33% greater performance than a Wave 1 AP that is 3x3 in both radio bands. You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:Thanks to its discreet design, the UniFi FlexHD can be mounted near users without compromising a location's aesthetic. The FlexHD can be deployed almost anywhere; on a desktop, on a wall or a pole, or even in the ceiling (special mount required - available separately). This improvement increases wireless performance and/or serves more clients at the same performance level.
