About this deal
i'm not saying MZ has a type, but... the amount of grumpy giant men this author has in her books as the love interests...đ¶ yk what this girl doesâŠSHE GETS MADDDDDDDD. she takes him telling her to leave him alone and related it to an abusive relationship she had in the past⊠his freaking out over something valid and wanting space was the same as her being told to leave a certain abuser in her life aloneâŠ. i understood her past but where in the right mind were we going with this?? Apart from that, I didn't feel an ounce of connection to the characters. There was no chemistry or a spark between them.
Mariana Zapata books are freaking addictive, once I start one, I just want to binge read until Iâm done, seriously! I still havenât found a book by her that I donât absolutely love. Sheâs the queen of the slow burn, and sheâs a master at it. Everything about it always feels so right, the purpose, the anticipation, the non gratuitous sex. Itâs just perfect! like how dumb can you be??? like honestly at this point i was ready to go to sleep after reading this book up until six am. this was the biggest flop and worst book iâve lost sleep over and that says a lot!! ive stayed up reading so many trashy books but at least i expected it from them!! And Aaron...idk. I liked him but he came across as just a tiny bit controlling and condescending in a few situations, which I didnât appreciate. There was one situation in particular in which he really pissed me off, since he blamed Ruby and made her feel bad for something that wasnât her fault and that whole scene made me wonder a bit about the mindset of the person who wrote this. although a context cannot be provided srry, he set this boundary SO CLEARLY!! he kept repeating he wanted space, he wanted to be alone, HE DID NOT WANT TO SAY ANYTHING IN THE MOMENT OUT OF HIS OVERWHELMING FEELINGS!!! yes as a grown adult, he should be able to handle it no matter what but this is clearly setting a boundary!!! A könyv mĂĄsodik felĂ©nĂ©l, mikor mĂĄr Ruby elbeszĂ©lĂ©sĂ©bĆl folytatĂłdik a törtĂ©net, kezdtek kisebb ellenĂ©rzĂ©seim adĂłdni fĆleg Ruby karakterĂ©vel szemben. Want more of Marianaâs delicious slow burn? Why not follow Rubyâs story in Dear Aaron with From Lukov with Love! And donât miss any of her romances beloved by millions of readers! H also keeps asking the h what favor she wants because he owes her. She keeps telling him itâs fine. Later we get that she lied to the cops for him and thatâs why he owes her.
NO CONNECTION, no chemistry, no sparks, nothing redeemable about the most boring characters I've ever read in my life. The family relationship between the side characters was beautiful, because of Lunaâs horrible biological family, she had created and found unconditional love in the work family at CCC. I was never bored reading the interactions between the side characters and the daily life at CCC, all characters were fully dimensional and hilarious. Also, just a side note: our heroine used the word idiot when referring to herself and/or her actions. I always sided with her when she would say that, no matter what Aaron made her believe later. Aaron is in the army, has been for 11 years he didnât know what he wanted to do with his life he just knew he wanted to be more than the family business. He is down right handsome, so funny, filled with banter and wit. Protective and cute, I couldnât get enough of him. He doesnât realise how much he needs Rubyâs letters until they start coming. She makes him smile and laugh more than he ever has. Heâs just gotten out of a bad relationship so at first he is unsure if he wants the connection but Ruby can not be denied, she doesnât quit.A teenager who doesn't know anything, really. I get that it's 2008 when she starts writing to Aaron, but the internet existed then, did it not? Women in 2009 acted quite a bit like today did they not? As I said in that other review (literally - I'm copy and pasting this in here because lazy efficient), it's almost like you have to earn it in Zapata's books. And, like anything in life, the things you earn are the things you appreciate the most. And you seriously appreciate this love story by the time you get to end.
The slowwww romance bubbling between the lead characters was definitely what made this book stand apart from the meet-date contemporaries these days. The character growth of the protagonists was also neatly done. Aaron pushing Ruby to be bolder and Ruby influencing Aaron to be better was just so lovely. Their relationship was too adorable for words. RURON FOREVER. Enough said. Luna was such an interesting character, but to be honest she wasnât my favourite. I understand her positivity and constantly assuring herself after all she went through, but at times I thought it was too much and I just wanted her to stand up for herself more. I still felt that urge to protect her tho. luna is a body shop artist so she basically paints cars, ripley is half her boss. her other boss is mr. c who is a father figure to her and when she escaped her awful home life he was the first person to give her a chance and help her get to where she is now. luna is this little ball of sunshine while rip is all woof woof grrr i hate everyone. so let me elaborate on them some more.Actually, I think that when I was 10, I would still think it was excruciating. There were so many elements that went in to making this book excruciating but to save you the long read, I'll mention only my top three. I feel the need to preface this by stating that I am, and have been for a while, a die hard Mariana Zapata fan, and would feel generously blessed to read her grocery list. But Iâll let you know, this was a lot more interesting than a grocery list. I do trust you though. I think if someone tried to take me, youâd at least fight them for me a littleâŠâ I watched his face for a moment before narrowing my eyes. âWouldnât you?â
Wow! I couldnât put this book down, yet I never wanted it to end . . . This really is a truly fantastic friends to lovers book, you MUST read it!!ââââââ reader review Szerettem ezt a könyvet olvasni. JĂłkat derĂŒltem a humoros jeleneteken Ă©s a csipkelĆdĂ©sek is a kellĆ mennyisĂ©gben voltak jelen. now onto rip, heâs the overly broody, extra grumpy mmc. mzâs fav mmc type ofc. heâs not friendly w anyone but after becoming a co-owner three years ago luna did him a huge favor and now he asks her daily if she wants to cash in her own. sheâs said no for the past few years but when sheâs invited to her grandmaâs funeral in which she has to re-visit her traumatic past she decides she needs someone buff and grumpy. aka rip Not even going to lie see what I did there? ha, the age gap aspect of the relationship was one of my favourite things, and MZ writes it so well. I loved how it was briefly mentioned by family and friends that Luna had dated older men (only) but it wasn't apart of the drama, it was accepted and just apart of the story. There were so many little details that just took this story to the next level, and I can already see myself reading this a ridiculous amount of times.

And dude, you cannot seriously tell me that you didn't know Rip was Mr. Cooper's son like, immediately. And that "mysterious" shady shit that was going on with her sister? Omg, can you say lamest resolution to a side plot EVER?
