About this deal

This sculpt was also redecod for the third wave of Go-Bots to become Frenzy, and later still into the 2001 Robots in Disguise Spychanger Hot Shot. Accessories: Pretender Shell, Sword for Pretender Shell, Rifle for Pretender Shell, Spacewarp Mini-Con, Joint piece for Spacewarp/Rifle EXPAND YOUR COLLECTION WITH SPECIAL EDITION FIGURES: Generations Selects is a fan-dedicated line of figures featuring special edition characters that can’t be found in the main line Fans can take their Transformers figure collections to the next level with Generations Selects, a fan-dedicated line of figures featuring fan-favorite, special edition characters you can’t find in the main line.

In fiction, this toy represents a transtector body initially owned by Beast Wars Megatron before coming into Generation 1 Megatron's possession. For handfeel, this guy still feels pleasantly chunky in-hand, and I’m pleased to report that all of his joints are super-tight. In fact, they took the opportunity to fix his ankle tilts! To recap, the Siege version had weirdly loose ankles that were supposed to peg into a neutral position when not being used, but the pegs often didn’t work, making his feet flop around. For the Combat Megatron repaint, they reinforced those tabs. And on this guy, they just did away with the tabs entirely, and tightened those ankles right up, instead. He features two 5mm-compatible hands, and his head is made out of a slightly soft, rubbery plastic. Like Starscream, he actually has elbows, and like all Authentics toys, Megatron features sculpted insignias on his chest and the sole of his right foot; the latter is visible in tank mode while the former is visible in robot mode. AWESOME ACCESSORIES: Comes with Fusion cannon and blaster accessories. Figure features swivel turret in tank mode The same images were later shown at BotCon 2005. Sadly, photography was not allowed at either panel the toy was shown at.All twelve points of articulation in this mode are still nice and tight. No parts are falling off my copy of this figure so I'd say the tooling is holding up, at least for this release. Much like most 2020 Selects products, the toy is only branded as part of the War for Cybertron Trilogy and not Earthrise. As a redeco of the Revenge of the Fallen Bludgeon mold, it is highly likely that Megatron is cursed with the same design fault as his brethren - the rubber treads break down over the course of years, causing them to corrode spots of plastic and leave melty gashes behind. Our brand new G2 MEGATRON off-Road super-robust Hoverboard is the most advanced and smartest Hoverboard ever for sale. With solid 8.5″ heavy-duty wide off-road tyres and a strong rigid premium metal body, this model is perfect for beginners and advanced riders alike. Hand-painted samples of a jungle camo-themed Starscream and a sky camo-themed Ramjet, both of whom could be new characters for all we know. The latter was eventually revived in Legacy: Evolution as Cloudcover.

As with all our official Hoverboards for sale, this Megatron Off-Road Hoverboard is fully certified under all British directives of safety for 100% reliability, safety and quality assurance. G2 MEGATRON Hoverboard UK Features: So, his accessories are another weird point on this guy. On the normal side, he has his trademark fusion cannon, which is another almost-identical-but-actually-new sculpt that’s marginally less covered in tech detail, but more importantly, is now solid purple. He can arm-mount it as usual. Ultra: Optimus & Megatron - probable release date - June 2001 (these are new additions to the list - I don't know if they will replace the 2 megas or if they are in addition to them, but these 2 along with the 4 deluxe will be the initial release"— BigBadToyStore, 2000/12/06(archive link) This mold was redecoed into the purple Megalligator ( see below), released individually to be his own character Megalligator and a different redeco was proposed for the unproduced Albitron. The Iguanus version of the mold was redecoed into Crazybolt.

Select aspects of this design, such as the leg-mounted treads, the general transformation sequence and the tank alt-mode, were used to represent G1 Megatron in Transformers: Devastation. The toy meanwhile was retooled into Armada Megatron, which was released at the same time. This mold’s tank mode bears almost no specific resemblance to that Megatron’s original Armada toy, but in a concession to that character’s legacy, both versions of this mold feature Armada-style Mini-Con connection ports; a rarity in any year of the Generations toyline. The original version of this mold was use to make Archforce and 2001 Robots in Disguise Bludgeon (which has been repurposed to also be Shattered Glass Bludgeon) and Yellow Megatron. Whether this toy can be considered the Beast Wars Megatron character as seen in the primary fiction is a matter of debate. Released before the beginning of the animated series, which established Megatron as a separate entity from Generation 1 Megatron, the accompanying profiles and mini-comic imply the Beast Wars to be a direct progression of the Autobot/Decepticon war. Most of these are redecoes of "Generation 1" molds, and most of those are redecoes of molds they had already released in the first year of the line. Assortment numbers on some of the art has revealed them to have been planned for the 1995 series of figures. However, as Hasbro was trying to distance the line from "more of those old toys your brother has in the attic" at that point, these appear to have been killed pretty early in that year's development cycle. Known designers: John Warden (Hasbro), Takashi Kunihiro (TakaraTomy), Ken Christiansen (concept artist) [7]

His fusion cannon can plug into the short barrel of the tank turret or the rifle/Headmaster vehicle weapon. In an undocumented additional feature, the rifle can be inserted into the front end of the fusion cannon. The fusion cannon can be mounted on his forearm or held by any figure with 5mm hands. It also has a peg hole that an accessory such as his rifle can plug into, with extra square peg holes specifically to hold the rifle in place. Takara had prototypes of the Cyberjet molds with add-on armor pieces on display at a toy convention, but those clearly never happened. All this color really highlights how this is a good headsculpt, with a mean mug, and nice colorful eyes. I particularly like the sculpted lines on his face. It’s good stuff, and it looks nice and vibrant with its silver helmet, lavender face, and red eyes.

This mold might have been planned for a redeco into Sports Label Starscream, but that's a bit vague. Scaled to the same height as 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime and designed in only twelve days by Hisashi Yuki, [2] Masterpiece Megatron is an incredibly complex figure—potentially one of, if not the, most complicated Transformers toys to date—designed to depict a fairly show-accurate Megatron capable of transforming into a realistic (if oversized) Walther P-38. In achieving this seemingly impossible goal, Megatron winds up with the least articulation of the Masterpiece line, as well as a notably low percentage of die-cast metal.
