About this deal

This bin uses an infrared motion sensor to automatically open the bin as your hand approaches. The mechanism is energy efficient too, which means the batteries actually last around 20% longer than normal. The 80-litre capacity is more than enough for most households, helping to reduce the number of times this bin will need emptying.

Durable –You can rely on this bin to last as it’s made from hardwearing stainless steel and is designed so that you can easily wipe it clean. The general waste compartment is 50 litres capacity and includes a food waste caddy. The lower compartment is 25 litres capacity and can store your recyclable items such as plastic bottles, trays or glass. We really like this extra compartment to help with keeping recycling items separate. It’s one of the best all-in-one recycling bins we’ve reviewed. The sensor bin lid will automatically close after 5 seconds of inactivity have passed. The brushed stainless steel bin body features a non-corrosive coating, meaning no rust will appear from any splashes during use. This sensor bin from NETTA has a sturdy stainless-steel body with removable lid and liner, making it incredibly easy to clean and maintain. If your kitchen floor can be slippery, you’ll appreciate the non-skid bottom that will keep this bin in one place. The next consideration is the amount of space that you have in your kitchen. This should influence the shape of the bin you choose. If you do not have much floor space, you will want to find a bin that is taller rather than wider. This modern, smart automatic bin from iTouchless is easy to use, convenient, and has a smart appearance too. The sensors will also keep the lid closed when there’s no one around, so you don’t have to worry about pesky bugs or animals getting into your bin.

This sensor bin from simplehuman is constructed with brushed stainless steel, giving it an elegant, classy look. Designed for efficiency, the batteries last for up to 1 year before needing a replacement. Large capacity – This bin will last all day long in your kitchen, being ready to use when you need it most to contain all of your rubbish. The Phantom recycling bin has a sleek stainless-steel finish that benefits from a finger-print resistant lacquer. The space-saving design means the bin can sit flush against a wall rather than taking up valuable floor space. This large capacity 50-litre bin is ideal for the busiest of households and takes four AA batteries to get started with this extremely useful, hygienic and aesthetically pleasing kitchen essential. This is a 45L capacity bin, not the largest we’ve reviewed, but that size would be fine for most households, particularly if you recycle much of your waste into other council-supplied recycling boxes.

The Swan logo is prominently featured on the front of this bin which may deter some buyers; however, it’s only a small niggle for a very retro-looking bin.

The body of the bin is a robust steel finish which won’t easily dent. As you approach 40cm of the bin, the infrared sensor will detect movement and raise the bin lid, ready to accept your disposal items. The lid will close again after 5 seconds of inactivity. Opening and closing automatically with just a wave, disposing of your household rubbish has never been more efficient and sanitary. What's better, the robust and non-corrosive steel finish resists messy fingerprints and smudges to retain a shiny, clean and polished quality. Many sensor bins also have manual ‘open’ and ‘close’ buttons that you can use instead of the sensor mechanism. There are a variety of sizes of sensor bin available on the market today, most commonly between 40 and 50 litres. That being said, there are still sensor bins available that have larger or smaller capacities, and they come in a range of shapes too.
