The 1080p transfer looks great and this Ultra HD rendering takes it up a notch with a discernible increase in detail, emboldened contrast, and a noticeably sharper image. It’s all perfectly fine but, predictable, with none of the new faces bringing anything viable to the proceedings. Wedding sequences, and parts involving the filming of the movie within the movie also give moments of height. A Legendary Character (4K, Dolby Vision, 4:40): A short tribute to Maggie Smith, the Iconic Dowager Countess Violet.

When Downton Abbey: The Motion Picture was announced I was all in and eagerly its theatrical release. In the commentary, director Simon Curtis tends to describe scenes without behind-the-scenes details, telling us little more than what we can see on the screen.

Maggie Smith is wonderful, as usual, with her well-focused quips and observations, but her Violet seems a bit mellower than in earlier appearances.Hear what it was like for them to see one another again and learn about their character’s continuing story arcs. For newcomers, this is a great film to work up to, and for me, this and the first film are reason to go grab the complete series Blu-ray set and hopefully sometime soon.

Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia (1080p, 2:53): Touring the vessel as seen in the film and exploring its true history. Resolution received a boost although the differences between the UHD and 1080p renderings aren’t quite night and day. On occasion this can be a somewhat darkish film, and its interior sequences had excellent depth and dimension. Whether you're looking for a newly released movie, a TV box set, or even a classic film - you'll find what you need in our categories. Instead it humanizes them all, exposing their strengths, weaknesses but above all the implicitness found in their devotion to their way of life, one another and their genuine and shared struggle to co-exist amidst the ever-changing world around them.Quel plaisir de retrouver les personnages de la série dans ce 2e film, encore plus abouti que le 1er, me semble-t-il.
