About this deal
Throughout, Fred shares his code for success, happiness and a life fully lived, gleaned from half a lifetime of hard yakka on the wicket, in the dressing room, behind the wheel, in the boxing ring, and even treading the boards of a stage musical. I dropped my review from 5 stars to 4 as I felt a little short changed on the content of the book, the book is double spaced with wide margins and I easily finished the book in a few reading sessions, I'd wait for the paperback as that might be less wasteful on paper.
The lost form, gain form, Neil Fairbrother helped me then we went for a drink down the pub with Harmison and Rob Key. With a bit about how he met his wife Rachel and his daughter Holly being born but most of it is this - felt unsure about my batting then good about it when I was hitting it out of the park, then I hadn't bowled enough, then I bowled loads and was knackered, then I was injured (he did have a lot bless him, he must be dropping to bits) and had a jab to stop the pain. Every single Certificate of Authenticity is also verified by our chief executive officer - to guarantee that the item is genuine and hand signed. Published just months after that historic win, this book was written primarily to capitalise on the post-Ashes euphoria. This book by Andrew Flintoff is not the kind of thing I’d normally read but I received it as a Christmas present I thought I might as well give it a try.The only chapter I skipped was the cricket/sport one just out of personal preference as I wouldn’t know what he was on about! Flintoff's wit and charisma, which endeared him to fans worldwide, are evident throughout the memoir. It's part autobiography - mostly about his roles in Top Gear, Talk Sport and In a League of their Own. This was another standard cricket book, talking about the early years and covering his career as he became a part of the England team.
Flintoff has also dedicated no less than 5 chapters (out of 24) to the 2005 ashes- in my opinion the greatest test series ever played. But Freddie Flintoff has had a moment to reflect and he's noticed that throughout his four decades, although there's been little method in the madness, there has been the occasional common thread.
