About this deal

Okay, so this isn't technically a mould and mildew remover but it does leave my bathroom looking clean and smelling fresh, so I think that counts. Allergenic and Pathogenic mould groups are low risk, though they can still cause health issues. Toxic moulds are, as you might guess, high risk. HG Mould Spray is a name that comes up again and again (and again) on Mumsnet as the best mould remover. Users love it because it’s affordable, effective and plumber recommended. Whether you’ve got mould on plastered walls, tiles, bathroom seals, grout, windows or outdoor furniture, just spray on the HG Mould Spray, wait 10 minutes and simply wipe it away.

Bathrooms can be an infuriating room to keep clean because the constant exposure to moisture makes them rife for mould and mildew. For this spray to be most effective, I've found it needs to be used on a very regular basis so you can keep on top of things. I do love that it's an effective, gentle product in a generous 828ml bottle - plus it's cruelty free. I also love that this spray has been concocted with some naturally derived ingredients - but I'm not sure it'll make me swerve the bleach forever. If your tile grouting or sealing is discoloured, it could well be mould. Replace the seal around your bath if you notice it starting to peel away. The best offence is truly a good defence when it comes to mould. Here are five ways to prevent mould in your home. 1. Ventilate your home and keep it tidy Our range of proven mould sprays and mould cleaners are up to the job. They’re designed to kill mould and mildew for good and can be used on plenty of household and garden surfaces. It's important to air dry rather than tumble dry until you're sure the mould has been completely removed. Clean the mouldy surface with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner, then use a sponge, cloth, or brush to work the soapy solution in small circular motions over the mould.

But if you find mould outdoors, even on stubborn surfaces, help is at hand. You can use plenty of our mould cleaners on outdoor materials, like our Algae and Mould Remover which is perfect for use on paths, patios, tiles and terracotta pots. Poor ventilation: Linked to condensation and humidity, if you aren’t regularly ventilating your home, moisture has nowhere to escape. Ensuring you use your extractor fan in the kitchen and bathroom and open windows for 10 minutes in the morning can make a big difference. Mould’s a menace in the home, but it’s not much better in the garden. It can grow on outdoor surfaces, like patio flags, garden ornaments and flowerpots. And it can spoil the look of your garden, and worse it can damage your ornaments and compete with the plants you actually want to be there. According to the product description, the spray is made with a new "naturally derived lactic acid formula" that promises to be "tough on soap scum and limescale and easy on surfaces", while killing 99.9% of bacteria.Would suggest trying the Astonish Mould and Mildew remover. It is exceptional stuff, and I've had great results with it on anything I've tried it..." (Tried and tested by e1y1) Our verdict Aspergillus is a green or yellow mould that appears in circular shapes on carpets, mattresses and walls Dry your clothes outside: Wet washing can add extra moisture to your home, which is the perfect breeding ground for mould. If you need to dry your washing inside, avoid putting it on radiators, and open a window. Astonish’s Mould and Mildew Blaster is a Mumsnetter and Mrs Hinch-approved multi-use household cleaner that eliminates mildew, mild cases of mould and kills 99.9% of bacteria in just 10 minutes; just spray, wait and wipe. Just one application of Mould Magic will eliminate 100% of the mould & protect your family’s health

HG International is a trusted Dutch manufacturer of chemicals. You can choose a mould spray or a foam. This mould and mildew remover eliminates mould in damp areas, both indoors and outdoors. Your other option is a desiccant dehumidifier, which uses an adsorbent material to extract water from the air and prevent mould. If you're shopping for a dehumidifier that can work effectively in lower temperatures, this is your best bet. Humidity: From using an appliance like a tumble dryer or washing machine or going about daily tasks like taking a shower or cooking dinner, humidity is the most common cause of mould.Watch out for ceiling mould above your kettle too, and don't position your kettle under a cupboard as it can damage wooden units. Although you often see the words damp, mould and mildew used interchangeably, they’re not actually the same. Damp is the presence of moisture, usually water, where it shouldn’t be. It can lead to the growth of mould and mildew, as they both love warm, wet places to grow. Follow the instructions on the label and spray or dab the mould remover on a small area. This is known as a patch test and will help you to determine whether this mould remover is suitable for your surface and if it will work. Mould thrives on damp surfaces. A good dehumidifier will draw excess moisture from the air, preventing conditions that favour mould growth. A dehumidifier won't banish existing mould, but it can stop it spreading or developing in the first place.
