Please read the instruction manual and use them properly.” After these skull shaped charcoal creations started to spread on the internet, Sekisadamu asked all of the potential buyers to please be patient! It was time for him to start exploring the idea of a patent, and potential mass production to meet the immediate demand. The Start of Mass Production Sekisadamu was surprised and downright excited when all of his skulls sold out at the Wonder Festival. He sold out of them online, and also had an incredible response in person from the people who attended the festival. Once he realized that he had a winner in the fire, Sekisadamu started to approach Chinese companies about mass production. Unfortunately for him, they declined, although it was not clear why. There was some thought about the intricacy of production, but perhaps the companies took a look at the human-sized skulls and declined for P.R. reasons.

But people wanted more! The skulls went viral on Reddit and the artist’s excitement turned to dismay when he realized that he was not able to ship them internationally. The ultimate addition to your eerie gatherings, our Skull shaped charcoal! Each piece of this charcoal has been meticulously crafted into the shape of a skull, giving off an otherworldly vibe that will send shivers down your spine. Please read the instruction manual and use them properly,” Sekisadamu posted on February 7th, along with some pic of his macabre creations. In a recent tweet, the Japanese artist said that while preparing for Wonder Festival Winter, he approached Chinese companies about mass-producing the charcoal skulls, but they declined, without specifying the reason. He believes that it was because the processing of raw materials and the shaping technique are considerably more complicated than regular charcoal.

Japanese artist, Sekisadamu whose brainchild is the skull-shaped charcoal said he is surprised at the overwhelming demand for his charcoal after showcasing it at the recently concluded Wonder Festival, in Chiba, Japan where all his products were bought. Made from 100% natural materials, this premium quality charcoal burns at a scorching 280 degrees Celsius, turning a deep red that will transport you to the realm of the supernatural. Don't worry about any unpleasant smells or smoke, as this charcoal is completely scentless and produces little ash.

I’m hoping that Sekisadamu is being paid for his patent, because now charcoal fire skulls seem to be quite widely available. So, how did the talented artist go about creating the skull-shaped charcoal? Reports say Sekisadamu “ground charcoal into powder and mixed it with plant-derived ingredients to form a putty which he then moulded into that shape”.
