Even more so – what does Alice do when face-to-face with someone whose intentions appear dark (just think playgrounds full of kids!
Life has been so manic recently and I've been trying to get into a book on my Netgalley shelf but being a mood reader non were grabbing me. For a novel centring on colours, I’m afraid this was terribly bland, or hummus as Ahern might describe it.
Thank you NetGalley, Cecelia Ahern, and HarperCollins UK for allowing me to read an advanced copy of In a Thousand Different Ways. I admit it's not a light, jolly tale but the veins of hope that run through it as the story progresses makes it such a beautiful and unique read. This is both a complex and simple story about relationships and family and about love and friendship.
It becomes very repetitive - there are only so many ways of describing how colours appear - the red mists, the murky browns, the swirling purples.Man fühlt mit Alice mit und ihre Familiengeschichte ist wirklich traurig und tragisch an vielen Stellen. Her brother Hugh is supportive, but her mother Lily struggles with illness, and her brother Ollie gets into trouble (later landing up in the jail).
