About this deal

I have recommended Sarah a number of times to clients needing ADHD Therapy – for her ‘no nonsense’, ‘say it as it is’ approach.” Soli Lazarus B.Ed (Hons) Psychology, Yellow Sun Sarah’s second book ‘Teachers! How Not to Kill the Spirit in Your ADHD Kids’ helps teachers understand their ADHD’s childrens thoughts, actions and behaviours and gives them the very best ways of managing ADHD in the classroom, ensuring these kids go on to be the leaders and winners they were born to be.

The book helping support parents with childern of ADHD, was released in April 2021. Subsequently, the ADHD book has immediately resonated with parents not only in Britain but worldwide. It has been selling like hotcakes ever since. ABOUT THE BOOK Sarah has worked in 4 English Prisons and Young Offender Units and been dismayed at the number of diagnosed but more often undiagnosed ADHD kids who end up behind bars. I found this book really useful. Because my daughter has ADHD and ODD, explosive is the exact word I would use for her! The book breaks down an ADHD child’s behaviours in a very logical and understandable way. It explains that rather than seeing your child as misbehaving, view more that they simply haven’t developed the skills yet to deal with that particular situation. This book guides you on how. It was an eye-opener. Coming soon– Sarah’s book on parenting ADHD Teens –‘How Not To Damage Your ADHD Adolescent – Instead Coach Them Through Their Turbulent Teens to Win at Life’– 2023You won’t find another book like this. Written by an experienced counsellor with ADHD who really understands ADHD kids and how to get the best out of them.” Dr Sawhney, ADHD Specialist Paediatrician Comments Well, now all this information is in one place - in an easy-to-understand format. Skip straight to whatever issue you’re struggling with right now. The book uses real-life examples of what worked, what didn’t, and why. An insightful, sensitive portrayal of children who need help—and how to help them.” —Myrna B. Shure Are you tearing your hair out trying to understand why your ADHD child doesn't behave like other kids? This is an important and much-needed book! Wise, practical, and reassuring.” —Jane M. Healy, Ph.D., author ofEndangered MindsandDifferent Learners

To give this review some relevance I’m a 44 year old father and I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 32. My youngest daughter (9) has ADHD, in fact this book could have been written for her! It is from this book, which I have listened to numerous times now, recommended to EVERYONE, including my 9 year old’s school, I found ‘ Headstuff ADHD Therapy‘. I can say honestly, as a family, our experience with them has been life changing. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE know that this is a spectrum and not all people that have it exhibit these negative and frightening things. Also, in the USA the pediatrician is able to treat ADHD and you don't have to go through a therapist. Indeed, just because someone has ADHD doesn't mean they need therapy. It fits with my gentle parenting approach apart from the reward system idea but that in itself has encouraged me to think and challenge my existing parenting beliefs – actually if my little one has ADHD then he may struggle with intrinsic motivation (as pushed by gentle parenting) and might well need more extrinsic support, eg rewards. I know I do far better chasing a reward / goal in life, and I can set my own but little dude doesn’t have those skills yet. The authors insights are amazing! She is a Counsellor who has combined type ADHD (moderate to severe) but was not diagnosed until she was 51! Working with ADHD children and adolescents for ten years in private practice, Sarah has seen first-hand the road from ‘stroppy kid’ via ‘naughty teen’ to ‘young offender’ and is committed to helping teachers understand their ADHD students before things get out of hand.

I am a mom of an ADHD kid that is significantly impacted. He is honest to a fault and doesn't have violent outbursts. And he's the oldest so that means younger siblings. When he gets mad he says "Ugh! I'm so mad right I need to go sit down in my room!" Sarah clearly is an expert in her field – both with lived experience and through training and study and crucially, practice and with loads of ADHD folk and families. It’s a powerful combination. All parents should read this book, especially those with children who are out of control. Ross Greene presents a loving, rational, and research-based approach to dealing with problems that most parents have either felt were their own fault or were unsolvable. I could not recommend this book more highly.” —Edward Hallowell, M.D., author ofDriven to Distraction CommentsAre you desperate for help with your ADHD children, tearing your hair out trying to understand why they don’t react or behave like other kids?
