This model is equipped with a special sport version of the StayHear tips that's different from the StayHear tips included with Bose's earlier in-ear headphones, so they aren't interchangeable. SoundSport Pulse wireless headphones use a variation of the StayHear+ tips, with a cutout to accommodate the sensor window.

Use the free Bose Connect app (iOS/Android) to link up multiple Bluetooth devices and switch between them seamlessly. The StayHear+ sports tips are fully responsible for keeping the SoundSport Wireless workout earbuds in place. This way your workout would be wire-free, also the connectivity is further enhanced with the one-tap NFC functions. The SoundSport Wireless relies on a microUSB charging cable, which is outdated compared to USB-C charging.

There've been some complaints about it not playing loud enough, but I didn't have that issue with the iPhone 6S or Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge I tested it with. Purchasing the SoundSport charging case is recommended, making sure you’ve got a further 18 hours of listening before your next charge. Like the SoundSport Wireless, Powerbeats have a secure fit, though instead of relying on the StayHear+, Beats added a hook design.Sweating it out in the gym or running through the rain, these are sport earphones built to keep you going every step of the way. If you only occasionally need wireless buds it makes sense to save money and get the SoundSport Wireless, although, the Bose Sport Earbuds is more current and not much more expensive. The SoundSport can come across a tad polite with some rock music and metal, but since most of the time you’ll be running or cycling or performing some other activity that induces heavy breathing, that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
