After using the E-M1 with it's fabulous grip and button layout, I found the E-M10's lack of a proper grip and the close layout of the top deck's F2, Movie Record button (which I reassigned to ISO), and the F1, to be too awkward to use.

They measured the OM-D to have about the same dynamic range as they measured the D800 (around 13EV). They are lightweight, portable and full of smart computational tricks to expand users’ shooting options.with continuous AF; however this comes with a risk of image distortion due to rolling shutter effects. Olympus’s default JPEG processing strongly prioritises noise reduction over detail retention, but this can be tamed by turning down the Noise Filter setting. If you are going to take pictures in the dark, the trick is a bright lens and a tripod, not a great sensor behind a crummy lens.

This is not a normal tech “review” but it will be more of my thoughts using this camera over a weekend along with the photos I was able to casually snap.Just like its predecessor, it’s a lovely little camera that’s a joy to use and delivers great pictures. The few shots I have fired off so far look good and I can’t wait to get out there and try it out properly. My advised my father in law to purchased the EM-10 as he wanted all in one, so I’ll get a good chance to play with both now. but there is a distinct lack of cases - I would really like a two part-close fitting case with enough space to accommodate the F2. The olympus share wi fi has worked great on both my iPad and iPhone 5s for both sharing and remote operation.

As usual for Olympus, you also have to remember to select the low shooting speeds to get continuous AF, along with live view between frames.

EZ kit lens is a decent performer, giving sharp images across its full zoom range, along with decent close-up performance.

Being a troglodyte (of the cave dweller, not the stupid variety), I continue to use XP on my main computer.
