About this deal

This lens does seem to perform a lot better at closer distances, the performance is going to deteriorate once you get closer to infinity. megapixel sensor was actually up to scratch image quality-wise while still packing the blistering read-out speeds and whip-snap phase detect AF that first set the 1 system apart. Maybe Nikon already knew that there’d be no V4 and positioned the J5 to have something for everyone. Nikon 1 optimized optics deliver edge-to-edge sharpness and an aspherical lens element ensures superior resolution and contrast.

More than two years after release Nikon still doesn’t offer a native macro lens for its Nikon 1 system.I plan to either go NEX or m43, both of which have a better lens line up than the CX system (not counting using Nikon lenses with an adapter). If I’m shooting for extreme shallow depths of field or wide angles, the Nikon 1 isn’t going to be my first choice. I will go into more detail on that later, the point that I’m trying to make is that people who compare the 18. This has more to do with the ability of the camera’s AF-module more than the lens but if a lens wasn’t able to give responsive feedback then it would not be useful at all.

Stopping down, however, results in moderately loud noise coming from the aperture blades closing down.Huff, I hope you keep the site maintained, I have contributed in the only way my limited budget will allow me.

It was released in Sweden / Europe on 1 November and to this day I can not find it on some Swedish sites. I love it because it can also be fitted with a screw-on metal lens cap (which I also own), the HC-N10, to make it a tiny, low profile package but still offering the protection of a lens shade.

That wouldn’t make sense for general photography, but for the kid pics that I’m doing, it’s almost always nice to have a little subject separation. I see so many poor sample photos shot with new lenses on the Internet than I can hardly believe, which is one reason why I personally come back to Steve’s reviews. Nikkor lens (roughly equivalent to an 86mm lens), which should be wonderful for natural-light portraits with superior depth of field control. But if you found this review at all it probably means you’re a bit of a weirdo, and if you’re weird in a very specific way, then you should seriously consider the J5 and its 18.
