I am very keen now to go back to Sainsbury’s or any other supermarket when it’s safe and just find out what other Beavertown Brewery beers are available.

When most of us drink a beer, we’re more focused on the crazy story our mate is telling (with napkins and cutlery as props) or enjoying the summer sun on our face more than that number on the label. I just want to say thank you to Beavertown Brewery for producing a masterpiece real ale, this was a tremendous treat and very indulging.

Son of the Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant, owner Logan Plant has always been keen on pushing boundaries in the same style as his dad, creating bold, uncompromising beers. Conclusion: Now I am nearly always kind of down on the session IPA as a style, but this is pretty much the one and only session IPA so far that I respect. NMB was set up after seeing a gap in the market for a national supplier of rental drinks dispensers.

Designed for the session, it doesn’t instantly shout to be respected, but it has just enough flavour, just enough body, just enough bitterness to enjoy at that point. So we took decided that this needed to be low ABV, ultra-pale, crisp, light and bang on in your face with the hops! A beer that you know you can pick up and appreciate or simply kick back, relax and oil your neck with (the name Neck Oil comes from the founder of Beavertown, Logan Plant (son of legendary Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin! The name Neck Oil comes from our founder Logan fondly remembering his grandad stating he was off down the pub to ‘oil his neck’ with a pint. Craft icon Beavertown has been loved by the UK craft beer scene since it sprang into life in the basement of the Duke's Brew and Que pub back in 2011. This was clearly the reason why I bought it, the imaging just attracted me to sample it and it all paid off. Masses of hop additions during the whirlpool and a huge dose of dry hops make this a brilliantly easy IPA.There will be some more notes from the set to come – I had already done notes on two of the beers in the pack.
