About this deal

I had the same on my GLC, the washers stopped working, they also said it was the wrong type of fluid and I should use Merc only. A wide range of pack sizes coupled with different summer and winter concentrations makes the financial side a minefield, and pushes drivers towards the one-size-fits-all ready-mixed options.

stopping people on the way in telling them that water ist verboten to use in your windscreen washers could be amusing too. What do you guys use that doesn't mess with the sensor, cleans the windscreen well (lots of bird poop here) and won't damage the system? It is effective and smear-free and it is a Mercedes product, which like their vehicles is an indicator of quality.

The dealer claimed that it wasn't a warranty item as I had not exclusively used their Volvo screen wash additive.Plus, many of our branches have extended opening hours meaning we’ll fit in around your business needs to get you back on the road even sooner. Pointing out that I'd used the draft additive from their forecourt dispenser next door didn't go down well. If I was told this my first reaction would be to think it was a joke, then when finding out it wasn't I would still laugh in their face.

If you just use water and don't use the washers much it grows stuff in it which I guess clogs up filter screens. but to say something like this is completely ridiculous because it is impossible to prove whether you did or didn't. You’re stuck with the same concentration all year round, which makes it cheap in winter and relatively expensive in summer. It’s been 10 months since we last put pen to paper to report on the current state of the classic Mercedes Market, although those short months have flown by!I have tried to fill up the screen wash on my 2 weeks old 19 plate A Class, the liquid don’t seem to travel down to the tank and it’s stuck at the neck. It would be easy to overlook Demon Shot from the Tetrosyl line-up because it initially looks like something you just add to what is already in the car. For the BMW 1-Series, because of the location of the washer reservoir in the engine bay, it can grow bacteria and block the lines. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. It may have won yet again but it was tight, with the unlikely Diamondbrite One Shot very close behind, and regular top performer Autoglym securing the final spot on the podium.

I have always used the MB one, always ask for a bottle when I am purchasing other items or get a discount on a couple. Well I learnt the hard way this morning, windscreen frozen solid, went out to warm the car up for my wife, started up the car and the wipers came on. I have 3 years free servicing, but even if you are paying, my plan is to syphon out the Mercedes fluid before I have it serviced next year as the service says it includes topping up screen fluid.

The second entry from the Tetrosyl line-up is from one of the oldest names in the sector, and is more conventional than the Demon Shot Booster (left). Topping up the washer bottle yesterday, I saw a fair bit of gunky algae which has, no doubt, made its way up the tubes and is contributing. It does yes, the tank holds about 4l of fluid, there is a sensor in the tank if the fluid is low you will get a warning message on your dash display.
