About this deal

My second impression came after a few seconds when, out of nowhere, the flavour developed into something else. Golden coloured and fruity orange flavour with a hint of dryness in a yeasty and slightly sweet candy sugar and malt finish. Recently renovated, the state of the art brewery produces La Goudale, a French ale in the “Biere de garde” (beers that can be aged) style. The flavor follows but shows the malt to be nutty, gently caramelish, and somewhat honey-like as well. Aroma of grainy and bready malt along with dried straw, woody spiciness, some floral character, soft orange marmalade, dried apricot, dull apple, and a hint of a clove-like phenol from the yeast.

As the brewery now also makes beers which were inherited as a result of mergers, in the section products there will be beers which were not traditionally made by Goudale. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish.Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with big strength. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp with a fine-bubbled, seemingly natural carbonation that warms to become quite smooth. Beers of Europe strictly adheres to these regulations and by agreeing to our Terms and Conditions on checkout you confirm that you are over 18 years old. Perfectly balanced Belgian yeast and rich Munich malt complexity; with great noble hop presence/balance for the style.

La Goudale is a bière de garde which was originally brewed in Douai (northern France) by Les Brasseurs de Gayant. This time you can pick out more stone fruits, even some apple in there, and the bready aromas are complemented by some more hoppy, spicy and floral ones. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts.
