Having taken the chicken out and keeping it warm in foil, I added my roast potatoes, carrots, broccoli and Yorkshire puds, and in no time, my whole roast was complete. I also felt that the instructions were insufficient compared to other air fryers I’ve tested; I had to figure things out on my own quite a few times.

You’ve heard it so many times, you’ve probably seen it but you’re still wondering what this air fryer thing is. The one we purchased did not spin properly, and so we just roasted it in the airfryer in the end (without it rotating).

The popularity of the device started back before lockdown when people were looking for healthier ways to cook - and air fryers cook using much less fat and oil, making for leaner meals. I’ve also managed to cook meat and vegetables in half the time it takes my oven, though there are definitely some vegetables to avoid: broccoli, which turns ashy and spinach, which turns into a smattering of veg crisps.I have had it for about 4 weeks and during this time I have not used my conventional oven to make a meal.

It acts as a grill, flat plate and air fryer and can roast, bake, dehydrate and reheat – a total of seven cooking functions. This means it gets up to temperature near enough instantly and things cook in surprisingly small amounts of time. It barely fits on the countertop in my small flat and I can’t push it all the way back because it sits higher than the bottom of the cupboard above.However, if you’re looking for a device that’s more of a mini-oven for a small home then this might work. I was disappointed with the cook book it is flimsy not worth the money had better cook books free with microwave and slow cookers.
