About this deal

Personally I carry a quick link, rag, cable ties and tyre plugs in my steerer, just instal the Fork Cork and you don't need to think about them until necessary. For a number of bikes with medium security, fairly easy access, and a fully coated cable to protect the finish, the Kryptonite Kryptoflex 30′ cable and Evolution Series 4 Disc Lock is a great place to start. The result is a good looking solution to hiding a few extra necessities on the bike and ensuring it fits any modern tapered fork on the market.

Having spent the last years living in the fine-wine capital of Bordeaux, which boasts a rich wine history, picturesque châteaux and gastronomic epicentre I’ve had a taste for life in the vines. Inspired from my time living in the wine capital of Bordeaux, and training at London’s Leith’s School of Food and Wine, I hope my blog inspires you to enjoy what’s on your plate and perhaps dare to try something new. A very curious and useful gadget for certain things, for example I keep spare chain links, wicks, cable ties, a detachable and a small pliers in the hole. The only thing you really need to consider is how to stop your chosen item rattling around inside the steerer.

Now happily based closer to home in the West Country, where I grew up, and with my french cat Knibleschon, I’m excited about home-grown produce, including the English Wine movement. Cork City is compact and easy to get around, packed with food and drink experiences, talented chefs, great places to eat, Michelin rated restaurants, a vibrant outdoor dining scene, fun pubs, and the famous English Market.

Sorry to those that think its to expensive for what it is, but it really is a very well made and thought out bit of kit. But I get the feeling that the lighter, stiffer alloy frame is better suited for this type of bike, when large volume tires, a dropper, and 130mm fork are going to soften most impacts anyways! Yes, the cable can be cut, but it will prevent someone from just waltzing into your garage and making off with a bike.

Push it into the fork steerer’s opening on the bottom, twist the knob, and it compresses the neoprene washer to lodge it into place. Well Miles Wide Industries in the US has developed a product that converts your fork steerer to a stash spot. The Evolution Series 4 Disc Lock will be the strong point of the setup with an 8/10 security rating. Besides keeping the inners of your steerer tube dry and mud-free, you can also hide your secret stash in the steerer tube with the Miles Wide Fork Cork acting as a cover!

If you have a lot of bikes at your place, it’s probably time that you think of locking them up while they’re inside your place – if you aren’t already.

Even if they’re just tagging along in a bike seat or trailer, you’ll still want to get them a helmet. He has been writing about the latest bikes, components, and cycling technology for almost two decades. The Fork Cork is a glorified bung that inserts into the bottom of your tapered fork steerer and acts as a stopper to keep filth out of your steerer tube (anyone remember the venerable old Crud Bung from back-in-the-day? Because a metal skewer isn’t something I want to keep on my person when taking risks riding technical enduro trails. As Deputy Head of a bilingual London primary school I held cookery classes for students, to help form the building blocks of healthy meal preparation.
