The Hot Wings/Blue Cheese and Zesty Taco/Chipotle Ranch versions of Collisions had been a staple in my local grocer’s snack food aisle for years now, and I thought that was the end of the story, but the Doritos team wasn’t done colliding deliciously compatible flavor powders yet!

The hope is that the two flavors create yet a third a taste sensation when eaten together, as with the Hot Wings and Blue Cheese Collisions.We track calories and 7 key nutrients - carbs, sugar, fibre, protein, fat, saturated fat and sodium. While the difference in colour between chips is quite noticeable in the habanero/guacamole bag, these ones aren't so much. We put them next to each other in an interactive, video-sized room, where they went ‘live’ on their own channel and literally competed for screen time. It seems every collision bag has one flavor that tastes exactly like Cool Ranch (or just IS Cool Ranch), and another which kinda-sorta resembles Nacho Cheese. Instead I was a woman, disgraced, standing alone in her kitchen, mangling two chips together so they would both fit into her mouth at once.

If you eat one of each at the same time, it tastes just like you’d expect…a nacho chip dipped in hot wings sauce then dipped in blue cheese. Say what you will about Doritos’ crazy flavor ideas, and I do, frequently, but at least they aren’t content to rest on their laurels. From their rooms, both YouTubers did whatever it takes to secure more viewers: they played games, did make-up tutorials, invited their friends and challenges their fans with assignments. The massive packs, and a dozen of them, might push you towards the point where you never want to see them again, but the "collision" thing, it`s a fine idea - nice to have a mix up of flavour without the mess of a dip.
