About this deal

You may already know that Coco Chanel was a visionary who transformed the world of fashion, but did you know that she was also accused of being a secret agent for the Nazis during World War II? This book is written as well and as thrillingly as any number of fiction novels I have read lately, but it's all true. I really enjoyed this book, before I picked this up I didn't know much about the life of Coco Chanel but feel Rose gave us a thorough account of her life without being too overwhelming. Some of her most celebrated designs, such as the two-piece suit, the little black dress and the quilted handbag, remain in vogue to this day. But we see her relationships, her career and her tenacity in making it in a world that at the time was not always open to women.

Take a walk down the Parisian catwalk and follow the story of Chanel’s life, and of the high-fashion house she founded.

Our unique prints are printed with thick 310gsm archival art paper with a matt finish, which gives crisp lines and a wide tonal range of colour. Little People, BIG DREAMS is a best-selling series of books and educational games that explore the lives of outstanding people, from designers and artists to scientists and activists. Coco Chanel did not only help redefine fashion, but also changed the views of what it meant to be a woman. The product must be in the same condition/original packaging that you received it and undamaged in any way. She examines Chanel's enduring afterlife, as well as her remarkable life, uncovering the consequences of what she covered up, unpicking the seams between truth and legend, yet keeping intact the real fabric of her past.

Chanel as always been - and will remain - an enigma, no matter how many attempts are made, book or movie form, no one will ever get a real understanding of the woman behind the myth. To tell the truth, with the progress of human civilization and the improvement of the level of science and technology, the status of women in the society has gradually improved. There are facts in the book which are fascinating, how Channel No 5 was named, how the famous Channel Handbags were first designed and so much more . This book follows Coco Chanel from her early life in an orphanage to her time as a cabaret singer, hat maker and eventually an international fashion designer! But when World War I breaks out, their lives are irrevocably changed, and the sisters must gather the courage to fashion their own places in the world, even if apart from each other. The Queen of Paris, the new novel from award-winning author Pamela Binnings Ewen, vividly imagines the hidden life of Chanel during the four years of Nazi occupation in Paris in the midst of WWII—as discovered in recently unearthed wartime files. This book features stylish and quirky illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the designer's life. Chanel designed first and foremost for herself: by creating clothes fit for an independent and active lifestyle, she anticipated the needs and wants of the modern woman. Meet Emmeline Pankhurst—the leader of the Suffragettes—in this book and paper doll gift edition set.

Born into rural poverty, Gabrielle Chanel and her siblings are sent to orphanage after their mother’s death. Paper dolls, learning cards, matching games, and other fun learning tools provide even more ways to make the lives of these role models accessible to children.Raised by nuns in an orphanage, she rose to become a star of the world of couture and a byword for stylish elegance. Frankly i was wondering if JPicardie didnt get bored/tired/fed up of her subject halfway through the book. Meet Emmeline Pankhurst, an inspiring women's rights activist who changed the world for future generations of women. Just like the classic black dress she created, the author not only added his own predict of why she make this artwork, but also added small details on each part of dress, and Chanel's first perfume, No5, 5 is her lucky number, which is also the origin of the name of this perfume. When she is covertly recruited by Germany to spy for the Reich, she becomes Agent F-7124, code name: Westminster.

I realize things were different back then, but the fact that Chanel lied about her life really turned me off to her. Throwing new light on her passionate and turbulent relationships, this beautifully constructed portrait gives a fresh and penetrating look at how Coco Chanel made herself into her own most powerful creation. She spends a great deal of time telling us what biographer X or biographer Y had to say about this or that murky period in the life of Chanel.Given the magic that is the name of Chanel, this book is sure to find a large market of devotees who will clamour to read more about this woman and it does the story very well. I have a passing knowledge of Coco Chanel but this book really helped me learn a lot more about her. Justine Picardie spent years puzzling over the truth about Coco Chanel, peeling away the accretions of romance and lies. I would recommend this for anyone who knows nothing about Chanel like me as it gives a goo insight to her as a whole, but also for Chanel lovers, it is a light and easy ready that will whisk you away to a Parisian dream in no time.
