About this deal

I’m very happy and both the coffee, and the milk frothing for my 2x Cortados each morning have improved no end and the ritual is more enjoyable (to me) than the convenience of a capsule machine. The other issue with it having such a small footprint is it does move around when you're using it, but again this is something you just get used to.

I've given you all the info, so depending on your priorities you'll hopefully know at this point whether the Barista Pro is the right machine for you, or whether you'd be better going for separate machines, or for another integrated grinder machine such as the Barista Express Impress, which I think will soon become the biggest competitor for the Barista Pro, as I think so many people considering the Barista pro are actually looking for some assistance from the machine, which as I've said, you don't get from the Barista Pro. A low pressure pre-infusion, followed by a high pressure (9 bar) extraction delivered via a 15 bar Italian pump aids in delivering perfectly pulled shots consistently. As you can see, that's one big list of features, and it's quite a bit bigger than its older sibling the Barista Express, which I'll come to shortly.a faulty solenoid valve is in no way down to a portafilter, simply a bad part or bad qualiry control. I would still use the scales, but only to weigh the coffee in and out, espresso machines with shot timers do away with the need to press the timer button on the scales or to put the scales into timer mode if your scales have that. Hi Alex, when you say modding and lost warranty, what mod, do you just mean the pressure mod or PID?

So, in theory, I do prefer the idea of stand alone machines, but in practice, it's a bit more difficult than that, because the Barista Pro isn't a straight comparison to the Bambino Plus with a grinder. This is made even easier due to its automatic grind and dose conical burr that has 30 different grind settings so you can get the right amount of coffee for superior flavour. The Sage Barista Pro is one of the best-selling espresso machines from Sage, and it's an integrated grinder espresso machine, as is the Barista Express and the Barista Touch (which is the touch screen version of the Barista Pro). You're bound to like them because it was setup initially as a little project with the involvement of my fellow coffee botherers (coffeeblog readers, of which you're now one since you're here reading this) to develop a small range of coffee beans that we'd all love.

The display panel on the Barista Pro is very simple and easy to use and also, gives you the option to manually control the espresso shot to your desired level so that you get the same personalised shot every time. I love the size of the machine, the size of the drip tray – which really is a practical size compared to some machines (including the bambino plus), and the weight of the machine, meaning it feels solid when you're using it, it doesn't slide around when you're locking and unlocking the portafilter as lighter machines do. With a ThermoJet heating system, 3 second heat up time and precise espresso extraction, you go from bean to cup faster than ever before. This really is quite cheap given that it's the espresso machine and the grinder in one, and given all of the features.

This is another common question, whether you would be better off going with the Barista Pro or the Bambino Plus paired with a stand-alone grinder. An intuitive interface that displays all the information you need to create speciality coffee at home, whilst an integrated conical burr grinder delivers consistent amounts of ground coffee on demand. I know from speaking to my fellow coffee botherers, AKA coffeeblog readers, that this assumption has prompted many people to make the decision that the pro isn't worth the extra hundred money, and they've opted for the cheaper Express. With the Pro, though, there's none of that, the thermojet water heater is back down to brew temp almost immediately after you've finished steaming. The Barista Skills Professional course can be taken with or without SCA accreditation and is the third and final step in the SCA accredited Barista Skills module.
