Even if you're only moderately keen on ABBA I think you can still enjoy this DVD, younger audiences will enjoy seeing the original videos for some still well-loved tunes, most of the best are included here. First, you have to remember that these films (or videos, if you prefer) were made between 1974 and 1982. If you really hate them, you might still get some entertainment out of these videos, but there’s nothing here that will change your mind about them.

Older fans who watched all these videos on TOTP growing up in the 70s can relive their youth (and admire the girls, as well as their music).Under Attack”, filmed in a warehouse, has a claustrophobic feeling and ends with the four ABBA members walking, backs to the camera, out of the warehouse and into the light. Even after all these years of listening to these songs, I can occasionally still hear little bits in them that I'd never noticed before! When I was a teenager in the 70's there was not much that was more 'uncool' than being a male teenege ABBA fan. On “Fernando”, Frida’s kinky hair has been straightened and the group performs in front of a campfire against a background of stars.

On “I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do” Benny and Bjorn mime playing saxophones (there is actual sax playing on the track) and the girls are shot in soft focus, giving them an angelic glow. The dvd features some never-seen-before videos, such as When I Kissed The Teacher and That's Me, as well as several of their songs sang in Spanish. The studio shots are clearly staged and the live performances are pieced together stills showing the group in concert. Footage from ABBA's 1979 North American and European tour combine in this concert recording from the seventies' Swedish singing sensations. Anyway, the songs need little commendation from me, watch, enjoy and wonder afresh why the late masterpiece 'Day before you came' wasn't as big a hit as most of the singles that preceded it.Dancing Queen”, shot in an actual discotheque introduces choreography (well, it’s just pointing, really) to the mix. This is truly a fabulous collection from a band that carved themselves out a piece of music history that will never be repeated.

In addition, they wouldn’t even have to appear at TV studios to lip synch performances if they could just send a film clip in their stead. These are both 'official' videos as they are both contained on the ABBA Gold DVD, yet they are somehow missing from this collection! The Definitive Collection features every official Abba video in one package for the first ime, including three Spanish clips that have never been commercially released before.My friends back in the day would put ABBA down, but I felt so strongly about ABBA I did not care what they thought.
