About this deal

We’ve improved the fit: no more sizing up or down, these Period Pants hip-hug and belly-love like a dream. Flux says its materials are sustainably sourced – it uses biodegradable tencel modal from sustainably managed forests. We've all been there or will get there: too busy work schedules, friends, family, obligations, (work) stress. Try to avoid using fabric softener and tumble drying as, over time, this can impact the product’s absorbency. They're also made from responsibly-sourced Tencel™ modal, scoring them sustainability points to boot.

Free Sewing Planner Our downloadable planner offers a mini version of our popular Design Your Wardrobe program. These impressive Modibodi pants claim to hold 10 tampons’ worth of fluid – meaning they’ve really got you covered. The FLO x Netflix Period Pants in Black are a pair of hip-hugging, ultra-absorbent, washable briefs designed as an eco-friendly period solution. Fit Guides: We want to help you achieve the best fit possible so you can sew garments you truly love. I also loved how high the legs have been cut on these period pants – it makes me feel a lot “sexier” than I usually feel on my period, and means they can't be seen under many styles of clothes.

There are two styles of pants, hipster and bikini, and its products are made from a mix of polyamide, elastane, polyurethane and polyester. They may look like a regular pair of pants but they contain a blend of absorbent layers, to soak up fluid, and moisture-wicking material to help keep you feeling dry. Rewind 15 years, and the term “period pants” referred to the granny pants you’d wear to feel comfy during your cycle. However, the good news is there are now many eco-friendly and reusable alternatives out there, helping us reduce our environmental impact.

The first thing I noticed was that they're so lightweight and thin – (and they have a really high leg) – and the print and offering of two matching bikini tops absolutely means they compete with your favourite bikini or one-piece swimsuit. There are better makes out there that produce a far better product that is less bulky, more comfortable and don’t look like nappies for boys.

They're also still, at time of writing, classified as a “clothing” product – rather than a menstrual one – which means they're subject to 20% tax. I like that they sit really high on the waist (it's the perfect antidote to period-induced bloat), and I like that they always felt dry (even after I had bled into them for upwards of six hours). They were just shy of scoring full marks for liquid absorption too, and they kept things comfy and dry at night. They look just like the normal cotton underwear I'd wear when I'm not bleeding (my boyfriend couldn't tell the difference), yet they protect me for up to ten hours holding three tampons' worth of blood. Why we love them: “Kudos to Modibodi for releasing these period pants designed to protect you from postpartum bleeding, heavy discharge or light to moderate bladder leaks after birth. Five years later – in the mid 2010s – things got a little more high-tech, and a small number of menstrual-care brands began to add absorbent period pants to their product offerings.

Our reusable pants are washable and hold up to 5 tampons' worth of menstrual flow, giving you all the comfort and support you need. We found that most people use one pair during the day and one during the night, but it all depends on your menstrual FLO! Main Fabric: Lightweight to medium weight knit fabrics with at least 50% 4-way stretch and good recovery, such as bamboo/soy jersey blends, organic cotton, and rayon. As they sum it up: “We prefer our products like our partners: good looking, straight-talking and reliable. They were comfy to wear too, even during the night for 92%, while the sustainably sourced materials were surprisingly stretchy and soft. In the case of period pants, manufacturers told us it's to combat user concerns about the pants smelling over time. Single-use menstrual products are a huge contributor to this plastic pollution, with one pack of sanitary pads containing the equivalent of five plastic bags, and the average woman using over 11,000 disposable products in her reproductive lifetime (which each take over 1,000 years to decompose).
