About this deal

I generally use an incident meter (I rarely trust camera meters), set the ISO at 200 and shoot - I generally prefer to shoot in natural light/open shade. In comparison to our earlier C200 Film Review, which was also shot on a bright day, you can see how the grain has increased. This Fuji 200 Film is the ideal choice for superb natural-looking portraits or for just enjoying your analog photography shoots.

In comparison to Superia (which I didn’t really like as it was too green) it gave a wonderful nostalgic film glow that I was seeking when first starting out. Designed for flexibility and ease of use, Fujicolor C200 35mm works equally well outdoors in daylight or indoors with flash. Outside of any casts the colors appear natural with an extra boost in contrast and a tiny boost in saturation.Considering all this I decided to comparing Kodak ColorPlus 200 and Fuji Fujicolor C200 myself by way of a head-to-head to see how they perform. The optical design of the lenses is similar (6 elements in 5 groups) and the Nikkor 50mm AF-D has an updated multi-coating, which may affect the result under certain lighting conditions.

This is a good thing for non-professionals, as these film rolls tend to give stable results under a variety of different lighting conditions. I shot Kodak Color Plus for a short stint and I got some very pleasing results with portraits in the shade. The film also has a wide exposure latitude, which means you’ll have to try hard to really under or overexpose it. Some of the skin tones in my C200 photos are just a tiny bit off and the less-than sharpness leaves something to be desired. I shot the Fujicolor c200 during my trip to Sweden with the point-and-shoot Olympus AF-1, and my use of the film roll has been strictly during summertime. While it makes sense now, the move will most certainly have a negative long-term effect on the entire film community. I'm sure the C200 will be discontinued at some point soon but until then - it's definitely a nice alternative to the Kodak Gold 200. The frieze was therefore painted by four different artists: Brumidi, Filippo Costaggini, Charles Ayer Whipple, and Allyn Cox.

A few of the more boutique films I’ve reviewed on here are synonymous with specific types of photography; either by design or by how the herd has taken to shooting them. A tough question, and one that I recently wrestled with as I packed to visit my home country of the Philippines for the first time in seventeen years. Also, evidently you used to be able to get Superia 400, Reala, etc in medium format as well and it’s a great disappointment to me that I never got to shoot it, hoping for 120 Solaris too!
