About this deal

Inside, you’ll find two handy cleaning products – a fret buffer and some fingerboard conditioner. First up, use the grey side of the fret buffer to lightly clean the dirt and grime off the frets themselves, then use the white side to polish them up to a lovely smooth-playing shine. How long does fast fret last? Keeping your beloved instrument clean is incredibly important. Many players would shudder if they realised just how dirty their guitars can get. From sweat and dead skin to the horrendous finger jam that builds up on the fretboard, they all have an effect on the playability and appearance of your guitar. Grabbing yourself one or two things from this list will mean that you’ve got the tools to keep your instrument running at its best. Of course, what you choose will likely depend on how far you want to go with it.

Related buying guidesAll factors being equal (string gauge, string length beyond the nut and saddle, break angles, and so on), shorter scales produce lower string tension, are more elastic, easier to fret, and require less arm extension. Cut out a two-inch square piece of the cloth and simply rub it up and down the frets and fretwire, then rub it down again with a cloth to remove any detritus – the cleaning product contained within the Gorgomyte cloth will clean and condition both without the harshness of wire wool or potentially damaging cleaning products. What Condition You’re In You might think that if your guitar isn’t broken, then there’s nothing that needs doing. However, over time, the strings on your guitar do gather dead skin and dirt from your fingers, and your guitar – which is primarily made of wood and metal, will shift slightly with changes in temperature and humidity. This is where the best guitar cleaning kits and maintenance products come in.

This is a kit for players who want the tools to tweak and set their guitars up, on hand, in a nicely designed, compact case. The Fender Custom Shop toolkit is made with guitar maintenance pioneers, GrooveTech and it has everything you need, and nothing you don’t; plus they’re super high quality. As I mentioned above pretty much all guitar cleaners pretty much the same. All them clean your guitar strings and extend their life. But, the reason why I choose to use the Nomad MN109 are: Okay, we get it. The thought of tinkering with your beloved guitar can be intimidating, but don't worry. We aren't suggesting full-scale repairs, fret jobs or advanced electrical work. We're merely proposing you show your pride and joy a little TLC. What we mean by that is regularly cleaning the body and fingerboard to remove grime, routinely changing the strings and tweaking the action when necessary. Of course, to do this successfully, you're going to need the correct tools - and that's where this guide comes in. Well I read this thread previously, I`d heard of fast fret but thought it was a gimik type of thing, a friend of mine had some but never really used it so I never bothered from there.I have tried both, Olive Oil works as well That one guy I referenced is not the only one to say that. All fast fret is, is mineral oil. Nothing whatever special about it. Just not necessary, that is my point. For those reading, if you research, you will find you have something that works just as well or better in your kitchen. Olive oil is unique among oils, has the properties that make it work perfectly for this purpose. Pay for official mineral oil, or use unofficial olive oil (I think is works better, easier to apply, and have tired both). I'm done. All the claims that it has are pretty much made-up stuff. Does it clean your strings? Is it maybe just because you have rubbed your guitar strings and entire fretboard with mineral oil then you need to remove the excess oil, naturally you will be cleaning the gunk on your strings. You should also invest some money in buying specialized cleaning tools to keep your strings and fingerboard in great shape. GHS Fast-Fret is the industry standard, and a popular choice for stringed instrument cleaning/ lubricating accessories. Used worldwide for over 40 years. Does Boiling Guitar Or Bass Strings Work Or Worth It? Boiling guitar or bass string will remove the gunk from them but it will not fix structural damage. The process of boiling and restringing the guitar or the bass can sometimes take a lot of time and thus may become not worth it. Can you use fast fret on Maple?

Remove extra solutions from the strings– Take your cloth off and flip it to the other side where it is still dry and doesn’t have any solution to it. Of course, it would be better to keep another dry cloth for this process. wrap the cloth around your strings like mentioned in step number two and slide the cloth across the guitar as mentioned in point number three. You should keep a cloth to wipe down the strings after you are done with your jamming session. It will prolong the life of the strings. The applicator contains a few grams of mineral oil at max. I think it's even less. That white/yellow applicator part weighs around 8g with mineral oil included.Free your hands – Place your guitar face-up on a solid surface so your hands will be free to work on your guitar. The cream of carnauba body gloss can be used to polish your guitar’s body up, whilst also buffing out light scratches – it also acts as a light barrier against moisture and stains. The polish is ideal for everyday use, helping to clean your guitar and restore it to its original state. Then you’ve got a couple of solutions to help clean and condition your fingerboard, a couple of cotton cloths, plus their Ultraglide string conditioner to keep your strings feeling and sounding fresh. After a different thread saying about fast fret and how many people used it and recomended it I decided I ought to give it a go, however it was quite late and obviously no shops open so I thought I`d give the olive oil thing a go, I just used a peice of kitchen paper and poured a very tiny amount of olive oil onto it, gave it a little sniff (like ya do ) coz I wondered if it would make my hands stink, but no real smell to it in fairness, then I gently rubbed the cloth down the strings, just very lightly, then with a clean cloth wiped off any excess (there wasnt much) too my suprise it really did work rather well, certainly made sliding up and down the strings a hell of a lot easier, it took me a bit of getting used to at first, a totally different feel, but once i got used to it it was ok. I`m not sure that I`ll carry on with olive oil I`m not sure I`ll want to be rubbing it all over my new guitars fretboard (when t comes), I think I`ll invest in the fast fret, just seemed odd putting olive oil onto the strings
