Join us for our latest Acting Gym, in which the process of auditions will be demystified, with Middle Child artistic director Paul Smith.The session, also part of Hull Truck Theatre's 2019 Grow Festival, covers a wide range of topics including Spotlight, audition technique and tips, self-tapes (with the help of Hull actor, Matt Sutton) and dealing with rejection. The Acting Gym is a playground for Hull actors to take risks and develop their skills in a supportive environment at the Middle Child rehearsal space, Darley's.The Gym is designed to suit the needs of individuals with the sole intention of giving actors a space to try new things and improve their craft.It is open to any actor who is a resident of Hull, living in a HU postcode, with acting experience comparable to the level of youth theatre, university and/or drama school.Only 20 places are available, on a first-come, first-served basis. Grow is Hull Truck Theatre's artist development programme for artists at any age or stage in their career. The Grow Festival runs from 7-11 May.
